anyone have their bikini incision reopened ?

I had an exploratory laparotomy at the end of January 2004, where they made my very first bikini cut. Then, 10 months later, they reopened that scar to do the hysterectomy. I don't think there's necessarily any additional healing time, but in my case, I just had (and still have) some numbness in my lower abdomen around my incision that finally had gone away after my first surgery in 2004, then they cut me again! So here it is 8 months later, and I still have some numbness, but it's o.k. I think it's better, healing wise, to go into another incision, because then you're not cutting new skin, you know? I'd talk to your doc, but I did just fine with it. Hope this helps!

anyone have their bikini incision reopened ?

I had the 4 c sections and the hyst through the same incision line. I am having alot of pain in that area now and I am 14 months post op. The dr. thinks I may have adhesions. He (gyn) won't open me up again. I am seeing a uro/gyn for pelvic pain and bladder problems. If I need to be reopened I hope it would be through a new incision. The scar tissue wouldn't heal after the hyst and I ended up with a hematoma. It looks good now, but I am so sore in that area.
