post op pain from total hysterectomy and c-section

I am 2 and half weeks from my total hysterectomy and c-section. Due to endometriosis, I elected to do this. Everthing went well they were able to remove everything including overies.
I have a beautiful baby boy, but it has been tough. I am still in alot of pain. Mabey it is becuase I am up every 3 hours for feedings and changings and I also have two toddlers. My husband has been great, but the pain is still really bad, How long can I expect all this pain. IT feels like a truck has hit me if I am late on my pain meds.

I really feel for and sympathize with you. I know it must be hard trying to recuperate from having a baby AND the hystectomy and you are also not getting alot of rest and taking care of new baby ad toddlers. The way you describe the pain like a truck hititing you is the way my doc explained I would feel like before the hystectomy, she told me to make sure I stayed on top of the pain. I know that might be hard in your circumstances but I hope you can get some relief soon, and please get some rest when you can. s

post op pain from total hysterectomy and c-section

I am so sorry you are having such a hard time. I had a c-section with my first (16 years ago) and am six weeks tomorrow post op from my TVH. I cannot imagine going through all of it together. You are only two weeks post op and yes, it will be weeks before you are up to snuff. Do you have family that could come in and help out other than your husband? You really need to rest as much as possible....after all you have had a double whammy. I am still getting exhausted by the afternoons at six weeks out from just a hysterectomy! We are all different and you need to keep that in mind with your recovery. You had a lot done let alone the baby....when you have endometriosis usually they have to remove the growth of edometrium from other organs....this would make you a triple whammy. Try to pamper yourself...Yeah right huh....if you can even get some of your friends to come in for a couple hours a day it would help you. Don't hesitate to ask them either! This is a time when we should lean on our friends and families the most! I do hope you feel better soon.
