It's over & I feel GREAT!

I had my complete LAVH on Tuesday, and today, Saturday, I feel great! Yes, I'm sore, but I already feel soooo much better than I did before! I'm sore, but I don't HURT.

The worse part for me was my lower back. Oh my gosh, it REALLY hurt the first few days. They said that it was from the gasses they use to blow up your tummy. Anyway, that's gone now.

My surgery took about 2 hours and 15 minutes. I have 4 cuts on my tummy that are about .75 of an inch - that's it! I don't even have any stitches to be removed. They used "super glue" to close me up! My "stuff" feels fine, even though they cut it.

I'm trying to "take it easy", but I'm not good at it. I actually had a job interview on Thursday and it went great. I came home and took a few pain pills and was fine. I no longer have to live on the pain pills though. Just when I do "too much" and irritate it.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to email me. I know how it is....

ONE QUESTION: When should I start having hot flashes or as I call them "power serges"? I'm not going to take hormones for at least 2 months to let any remaining endo die.

Thank you ladies soooooooooo much!!!

It's over & I feel GREAT!

I am glad you are feeling so good! BUT...please remember this is major surgery no matter how it was done, and you have lots and lots of internal stitches. You don't want to damage them, so don't do too much, even if you feel good. You only get one chance to heal properly, so make the most of it.

Rest, drink lots of water, and rest some more!

It's over & I feel GREAT!

Oh my ghost Zany, I posted something similar on the Post-op board and almost felt ashamed to say I was feeling so great! I had a LAVH on Wed, and it's almost impossible for me to sit still. I haven't felt this good in years! Less than 24 hrs after surgery, I was showering by myself in the hospital and off all narcotics. I have come up with a 'coctail' of naprosyn and darvocet since I've been home, but that is more because I was worried about post-op pain causing a fibro-flare.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that is feeling better and better every day!
