Cervical cuff vs vaginal cuff

Hello Ladies,
Ok, 6 week check. I know that the vaginal cuff can be torn during sex, and yes, I am hoping to be cleared for sex, cant hold out much longer. I am curious if because I still have the cervix if I am safer than just with the vaginal cuff...I dont want to be too blatantly giving too much info, but am curious if the cervical cuff can tear too? I mean, ahem, do we need to be careful? I understand we do, but how careful? Oh my, I just might die of embarrassment yet.... Help!! (oh i hope no one knows who I am....)

Signed

Nothing in the vagina until you are cleared by your gyn! It won't be much longer and all this waiting will be a distant memory. Patience will pay.

I agree with the other poster, wait until you are clear is number 1 priority. But even when you are cleared I would still take it easy for at least a month or two. Nothing rough You would still be healing internally to some degree. Such as the muscles and ligaments that hold the cervix in place would still be healing.

Just remember that you only get to heal from this surgery right Just Once.

God Bless and continued healing

I'm not sure if it would make any difference if you had a cervix or a vaginal cuff. There will still be internal stitches in that area. I am NOT a medical professional, but that's the way it seems to me. I would definitely:

1. Ask the doctor at your check-up. Believe me, they've already heard everything.
2. When "cleared" by your doctor, just take it very slow and easy.
3. Have some Astroglide or KY jelly available; it makes things easier.

Fortunately, I usually have no problem in voicing concerns with the doctor. This may be one of the few advantages of getting older. If anyone gets embarrassed, it is likely to be him !

Cervical cuff vs vaginal cuff

Hi Ladies,
Ok, walked into the drs office, he asked how I was told him fine, I vacuumed on the weekend and was sore. He checked my incision, pronounced it beautiful, and I said I had a couple questions. He said ok, and instead of being suave and kewl, I blushed 6 shades of red, maybe even 7 and said "Can I have sex tonite!" He had told me 6 weeks. He looked at me and said "You mean you havent been? I thought we talked about that!" Sheesh, torture for nuttin.....

So, now for the tough part, I have to try the new equiptment out, and when I told hubby it may hurt, he looks at me with a twinkle and says "Its not worth hurting you!" So I am wonderin if now I will ever get sex again....

Here I sit, frustrated in more ways than one, wondering if.......Oh well, maybe I will lay low tonite and try tomorrow when we are not rushed, and can try things out in peace!!

Hugs

Good luck harley_kat...........I was cleared at 3 weeks for sex .I also think alot depends on how your doctor did your internal work mine was mostly cautherized so I had less stitches than some only around the vaginal cuff and the tummy ports....and very few at that.................

However Hubby and I wasn't having sex before so it really didn't matter, We did have sex for the first time a few days ago (i'm 3 1/2 months post op) and i couldn't tell any difference ....None that some other ladies experience like vaginal shortening and tenderness......It was just like always........Not really sure if thats good or bad.............lol

Good luck
