Had TVH w/ rectocele repair. Now sharp pain coming from the repair incision.

I am 5 weeks out post-op But I have had some sharp severe pain coming from the spot where the rectocele repair was done. I saw my GYN today and he said that all is normal and it would take some time before it went away But all I know is at times, when my Ibuprofen wears off, I go to sit down or walk and the pain stops me cold in my tracks. Anyone else having this problem, or had this problem?

Thank you-

Hi Rose I remember the rectocele repair as being the most painful part of my surgery. I sat on a donut pillow for six weeks afterwards -- it helped a lot -- and even after that for a few more weeks when I had to sit on hard surfaces.

If the pains continue despite sitting on a donut pillow and generally taking it easy (no lifting, etc.), let your DR know, OK?

Hi,

Glad you talked to your dr about your pain. The repair work was the most painful for me. I had pain and discomfort about 6 weeks or so. When I was home recovering I was in the lounging position on the sofa and when I ate at the table I sat on a pillow.

I took Motrin off and on for the pain. It did eventually get better and I am so glad because it is uncomfortable. I know how you are feeling.

I hope you feel better soon, and it continues to be painful , be sure to call dr and let him know.
