DAY 9 SEX - Another reason not to break the rules

Fall Princess:

You could do more damage than you realize. You have a bunch of stiches inside. I am 7 weeks post op and sex is still a bit uncomfortable for me at times. The doc released me at 4 weeks and the first few times I was very sore afterwards. I hope you didn't rip any stiches.

Good Luck!!

FallPrincess..

I really think it would be best to tell your doctor that you had sex. If you are worried what they will say I would not be. You are not the frist and will never be the last, to want sex early on so do not be afraid. What is more important is you find out what is happening down there.

thank you,,,, I loved it when i saw it

I agree with LadyJo
you expect your doctor to be up front with you, it is best to be up front with your doctor ...

I hope you didn't do any lasting damage. Please take care of yourself.

You need to call your dr. and tell him about this. And you must stop having sex until all infections are cleared up. Not only could you have introduced bacteria into the urethra, but also the healing vaginal cuff.

You and your dh have to find other ways to satisfy your needs. I'm sorry if this sounds like I'm scolding you, but both of you need to show a little restraint. You've been through MAJOR surgery. Most doctors advise waiting six weeks.....some eight. Is that too long to wait after all you've been through? You have probably set your recovery time back to day one.

That being said, please call your doctor and let him know what's happening. Then go to bed, rest, and behave like the princess that you are.

I've always been told the three people you never lie to are your mother, your lawyer, and your doctor.

Please call and let your doctor know the whole truth before you end up with worse scar tissue or even internal bleeding than you had before.

Oh darlin, You need to tell him. You could have really done some damage especially since you said you are cramping. You need to be upfront with him and you need to stop having sex of any kind right now. Oral is out of the question because you would be introducing bacteria into an area that isn't healed.

Please, please, please call your doc in the morning, tell him your symptoms of cramping, nausea. Just because you aren't bleeding doesn mean there isn't anything wrong.
Let us know what the doc said.

<----Princess in time out

OK, I called my Doctor but he had already left as he was on the labor deck all night. So I talked to his nurse and asked if the cramping could be from the raging infection and she said yes. She said the bladder having spasms etc can cause menstral like cramps. She said to treat the pain like you would after childbirth..apply warm heat, get my nausea under control etc. I did warm heat by applying the thermacare patch and it really took the cramping away (for now).

I didn't mention having sex because I'd rather tell my doc first. My gut instinct is telling me it's the UTI causing the problem. But yes we will abstain from sex.

The other reason why I didn't take the no sex rule seriously is because I thought healing process would be a lot like giving birth and I always healed very quick and we would have sex within 2 weeks of babies being born.

DAY 9 SEX - Another reason not to break the rules

Hi FallPrincess

I posted on here earlier. I am glad you decided to call your dr. It feels better to be up front with him.
I had a personal issue that I never discusted with my dr. until a couple weeks ago. I feel so much better since he finally knows. I can't feel any sexual sensations inside my vagina. I haven't been able to for 1 1/2 years or so. This is probably what caused alot of my depression. The hyst. alone made me feel unwomanly, then the lack of sensation on top of it.My dr. referred me to a colon rectal surgeon for medical issues I am experiencing. He said to be sure to tell her about the lack of sexual sensation. This could be part of the cause of it. If I wouldn't have came up front with him I may never have gotten the help I need.
Once your dr. knows what you did, the easier it will be for him to see what is wrong and treat you.

Good luck tomorrow. I hope you get better soon and until then, rest, rest and rest some more.

Peggy

You can come out of timeout now.

Ouch! Your doc needs to know that you've had sex! This can be VERY dangerous! I'm currently reading "The Woman's Guide to Hysterectomy" and there is a story in there about a woman that had sex 10 days after her surgery & immediately suffered from profuse vaginal bleeding, rupture of the vaginal vault and shock. She developed a severe pelvic infection, the tear had to be repaired, she required 16 units of blood in transfusion, and had to be hospitalized for 3 weeks!!!!

It's not worth the risk to me!!! I'll wait my 6 weeks! LOL

I also suggest having your DH tested for the UTI. Your DH can pass it back to you after your get better. Men can have an UTI and not even know it until its too late and then they are:cry: like little babies. The bacteria can live up there in their (whatever men name it) and when you have sex again, boomyou get another UTI. I get UTIs alot because I my right kidney developed smaller than the left and I have dealt with UTIs all my life. Hope you getter better soon!
