A gallbladder question.. anyone?

In October 2001, I came down with bronkitis. I went to regular doctor.Because I lost 35 pounds, and the fact both of my parents died of cancer, I went for a cat scan. I had pains under my right arm, rib. It showed that I had gall bladder problems. Went for ultrasound, than back to regular doctor, I had to go see a surgeon to do gall bladder op. Well, he got sick, so had to meet another one. I came back down with bronkits again. I took very good care of myself, for when I called the doc, medicine would not be out of my system in time for op. Just used regular cough expectent. When they took out my 5 stones as big as quarters, they had to break them!!! I had lots of little stones also. My surgery was on Jan,11,2002. I think I was home for 2 and a half weeks. I can't eat a lot of fatty foods. The lap insision is about 3 inches higher than the one by my belly button, from my 1/28/05 LAVH/BSO operation. I was sooooooo tired ,slept my life away.before my op's. Now, I think I'll be better that way. Hope this helps you some. FoxyJo

A gallbladder question.. anyone?

Interesting this showed up today. I am 16 months after my TAH. I started having upper right pain around 3 - 4 weeks ago and finally went to the doctor 12 days ago. Had an ultrasound which was negative. Had the HIDA Scan which I was told was "low normal". Was told to eat a low/no fat diet for a week, had back fatty foods and see what happens. Well, after a few days, we went out to eat at a type of cuisine that it is impossible to find something that fit and wow, the pain was there full force. Went to the doctor and am now scheduled to have the gall bladder out on March 13. My surgeon told me that sometimes all these tests can show negative for gall bladder but it may still be inflammed or still have sludge in it. He also said that sometimes the gall bladder is normal appearing but still causing problems (spasms I guess).

Those of you still having problems, I recommend to keep on asking or maybe getting a second opinion.

It is interesting that so many of us have had gall bladder problems after our hysterectomies. Now I wonder if it is related to the hysters or just coincidental as we are getting to the age that people have troubles with the gall bladder anyway.
