silly question.........but please HELP if you can
I will admit that I am a little paranoid about my upcoming surgery (Dec. 8th) since my original surgery was scheduled for June 23rd until the insurance company denied approvalfive days prior to the surgery. My doctor talked to the insurance company this time and had it precertified, and I even got a letter from my insurance company stating I was approved and blah blah blah..............BUT is this for real? Do I still need to call them? I have had the letter two weeks now and just figured if I saw it in black and white it was real.......now that it is getting closer..........I need your opinion....is it real?

I would feel comfortable that your surgery has been approved. But, why not just call your insurance company to verify it? It might make you feel a bit more secure on top of seeing the letter.

Like Jeanette said - you'll probably feel better if you call. When I make important calls I always ask with whom I'm speaking. Then I jot down their name & the time of the call on my calendar so I'd have the info should I ever need it again.
Sounds real! Help is on the way!!!

Yes, I agree that when you call make sure to get their name and write it down with the date and the time. Record everything! That way you have ammunition in case something goes wrong.

I'd say it's definitely real, but a phone call as back-up never hurt either. You may just want to call to double check what your responsibilities will be as far as co-pays, pre-op testing, etc. anyway. You'll feel more comfortable if you check, and one less stressor on the list is always a good thing.

silly question.........but please HELP if you can
Thanks to those of you who responded to my 'silly question'. I may have to give the insurance company a call just to hear it from them although seeing it in black and white should make it official, right? My pre-op is Tues., the 30th, which may be why I was stressing about this, since it was during my pre-op in June, that my doctor had to tell me my insurance company was not cooperating. She knew what I went through emotionally and physically in June, so she told me she would not give me a definite date in Dec., until she got the official OK and she did within three days, which is when she called me and two days later is when I received the letter of approval from them.....so yeah, I am paranoid. I am 99% sure it is real, but the closer it is, you know how we STRESS.
THANKS FOR BEING SUCH TRUE SISTERS.
