not doing so good :(

The pain I am having on my right side is getting worse - it is radiating down my leg and to my back. I have had to resort to taking pain medication to just get through the day. My bowels are so mixed up - constipated one day, too loose the next. I have nausea and no appetite.

I am so disappointed - after the hysterectomy about 3 years ago and the surgery to remove the right ovary and adhesions 6 months ago I thought I was finally pain free - I was feeling soooo good. {{{sigh}}} The past 6 weeks have bene horrible.

I had an appointment with my gyn doctor last week. He has reviewed the CT, IVP, urine tests, blood tests, and colonoscopy test results that I have had. He has also talked to the general surgeon who did the colonoscopy.

During the pelvic exam (internal and external) my gyn doctor discovered a mass on my right side (and obviously it isn't the ovary because that was removed, along with adhesions, in June). He can't tell by manual manipulation if it is some kind of a tumor that has developed or a ball of adhesions. I was perfectly "clean" 5 months ago.

I am going in Monday for a pelvic ultrasound and MRI to hopefully determine what is going on. A tumor would most likely show up on the tests; adhesions can't usually be detected by the tests.

I am pleased that my doctor has been able to pinpoint the problem area and some possible explanations for the increasing pain I am having. The bad news is that most likely I will need more surgery.

Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I would be on this road. I know that many others here have traveled down this same road. I know there are not any answers as to why some of us have lingering problems - however, I could use some extra right now. Thanks.

I do know the feeling and frustration of realizing that the pain isn't going away. At least your doctor is looking for answers. I'm sorry that answers may not be easy, I had five additional surgeries after my hyst and I am still here. Sigh.

You're in my ers. Hang in there and keep the faith. I know it's discouraging, but each path is a journey. I know it sounds corny, but I can look back now, and while I'm not healed and still deal with pain, I've learned alot along the way.

Just like Kim, I too know how it is to have recurrent problems with the pain.
I hope your tests come back okay.

I will put you in my prayers.
Take care and let us know how these tests turn out.

Lynn Mary

I am sorry to hear about your continuing pain. You have been so supportive to all of us and I know you have alot of sisters praying for you.
It does seem like we have more medical issues after having the hyst. My ovaries always seemed fine, but now I've been having like a pinching in them for over a week. I don't get it either. I thought the hyst was supposed to make us like new.I guess it just takes more time than we expected.

You are in my prayers and hope your tests results come back with a d*****ate answer for you.

Keep us posted

Oh ((((Lynn))))) I am so sorry you are still in pain and that the pain is getting worse You are always there for us, so of course we'll be there for you Unfortunately, too many of the Road Dwellers know about pain that simply will not go away: hopefully, one of these days, someone will come with a magic wand to right this problem

Hang in there: you never know, your doctor just may find the answer, and the sooner the better.

LynnMary, you are absolutely in my thoughts and

You are fortunate to have a good doctor who is willing to check things out, and who (it sounds like) listens to you.

I do hope that whatever it is is "easy" to fix, and that you are feeling good again very soon.

LynnMary, I am so sorry to hear you are traveling down this road.
I am praying for you, and I hope the doctors are able to
detemine the cause of your pain, along with a treatment plan
to resolve it. You mentioned possible adhesions as the culprit.
Have they also ruled out ovarian remnant? That has cropped up
here before in hystersisterland. I hope that very soon all of these
nasty pains will only be a distant memory.
