Feeling bad for feeling so good!

Has anyone else felt this well at only 11 days post-op? I know so many ladies are having a rough time with their recovery, and I feel so guilty about doing well, when I can't help them feel better too.

Had surgery 11/19, and was released 11/21. Catheter came out 11/20, and staples removed the morning I was released. No pain meds except 800 mg Motrin 3x/day since my 3rd day home. Even the swelly belly is a bit smaller than when I went in (probably due to a 6 lb uterus that's no longer there!) Maalox solved the constipation problem in 2 days (yucky but it works). My children have been wonderful, and helped make Thanksgiving a great day for me.

I went for my 10-day check-up yesterday and doc released me to drive short distances (kid's school, grocery store). I still have the no lifting and minimal excercise requirements of course. The funny thing is, he told me to start walking each day, so I got up this morning to take my daughter to school (driving again sure feels weird), figuring I would come home and go out for a little walk. Unfortunately, when I looked out the window, there was 2 inches of snow on the ground! I decided to wait till the danger of falling down and not being able to get back up has passed!

Doc says pathology report won't be back for another week or two to see where my missing ovary went.

All my prayers, love and best wishes for those who need a little extra support, kindness and love. Wish I could help out in other ways.

Feeling bad for feeling so good!

Yes, I felt great!

However, nearing the 3 week point, I have been having a bit of itching and stinging at the incision, and I tire easily so I think that my body is telling me to slow down a bit. After the 1st 10 days of rapid daily improvement, I expected it to continue, but it's now a kind of plateau.

All in all, I'm feeling pretty good. Gas pain has almost disappeared, but the swelly belly gets sore when I do too much. Actually, this sounds like the best of both worlds: I feel good, but I shouldn't do much of anything. That leaves lots of time for reading and posting on the internet! It's a dream come true!
