3rd silver nitrate treatment

Hi all
I went back to the doctor yesterday to see if the 2nd treatment of silver nitrate worked. It didn't. There was still major pain when she poked at the tab of tissue that is protruding through the edge of the vaginal cuff.
She applied an agressive amount of silver nitrate and made another appointment for next thursday, where she and another doctor will take a looksee to see if it is granulated tissue or possibly a prolapsed fallopian tube.

Last night and this morning, along with the usual discharge, there was some blood on my pantiliner also. I called and talked and told the receptionist what was going on. She said she would pass the message along as they were in surgery at that time.
The doctor who was working today called later and said it was normal( i figured so, but it was nice to have the reasssurance).

I have only been on the road a few weeks, but I want to find the next exit please!!

Thanks Dany for the reply.

Hopefully we'll get down to the bottom of this and find out what is going on (or not going on).

3rd silver nitrate treatment

I hope that you will resolve this soon. What I am having trouble understanding, if there is the remote possibility that is could be a tube prolapsing, why wouldn't they check that out then instead of applying all that silver nitrate and then look at it next time?

3rd silver nitrate treatment

Hi Marian

To answer your question, when my hysterectomy was done (by a different doctor, and at a different hospital), he tacked my ovaries and fallopian tubes (can't remember what to), so my new doctor didn't think that it was the fallopian tube at first. Because the tab of tissue isn't responding to the silver nitrate and hurts very badly inside when she touches it, she is thinking that it might be the fallopian tube, but wants to have one of her colleagues take a looksee next thursday if the tissue hasn't cleared up by then (she aggressively treated it this time with alot of silver nitrate).

She also told me that the usual procedure to deal with the fallopian tube is with a laser, and they don't have one at this hospital.

Just have to wait and see.

3rd silver nitrate treatment

Isn't it a bit early in the day for all these internal examinations?..Surely it is all going to be swollen at this stage, so could give misleading impressions...and would hurt to touch??

3rd silver nitrate treatment

Hi Scriv

My hyst was 4 years ago.

This problem was found back in September after I had a cyst removed from my right ovary.

I am still having the blackish discharge, so my doc definetely treated it aggressively this time. I am chafed from having to wear the pantiliners.
