swollen belly - 12 weeks

just wondering if my still swollen belly is normal - had TAH/BSO BURCH, ureter repair and severe endometriosis 12 weeks ago and now tummy is 2 inches larger than pre-op. Am on Climara. Any idea how long before swelling goes down?

swollen belly - 12 weeks

I had my TAH 1 week after yours on Sept 14, and I still have swelly belly. Mine is about 3 inches larger than pre-op. This weekend it was swollen a little more than that because I put up the christmas tree and decorations. On saturday evening my belly was sore and itchy and had a pulling sensation. It is still tender today. When I went in for my 6 week checkup and asked about the swelly belly I was told it should be back to normal after 3 months. I'm 1 week short of 3 months and I don't think it's going to go back to pre-op level within the next week. Some of the other posts have said it really takes 1 year to completely heal. I hope our swelly belly doesn't last that long.

swelly belly...

I still have a belly...cannot put on chinos/jeans from before...no way. My MD told me 4-6 months for it to go down. It's not as bad as it was and it gets bigger if I overdo (long day, lots of activity).

I am putting up my old size 14s...it will be a while before I get those on at this rate. I am in 18/20 elastic waist slacks and jeans.

Still better than I was...no regrets!

swollen belly - 12 weeks

Not only swelly belly but sore belley as well at 12 weeks, just went to see Dr today to see if all this sorness and major burning pings I have been getting for the past few days is normal - his reply for some ladies this this is normal. He did exam and said all was well and that sometimes as the nerves start healing they will burn and feel like they are pulling, told me to keep check to see if this was a passing thing if not we would do some studies after the holidays. So I guess some of us jsut take longer to get it together, hope you have a wonderful hoiliday!!

Me too! The belly has to go! But I am relieved to learn that my extended belly has more to do with swelling than actaul fat. I was really getting down on myself because I was feeling so big in the abdominal region. Glad to hear it is all normal. I just love thia website!
