ambien side effects

My doc gave them to me to help me sleep and they worked beautifully.
He only gave me a prescription for 20 of them and told me that, when they were gone, I may have trouble sleeping the first few nights afterwards.

I didn't take them everynight and I still have more than half of them left.
The only thing I noticed was that I was a bit groggy upon wakening the next morning, but I don't know if that can be chalked up to the meds or not.

Sleep aids can become habit forming, not necessarily addictive per se. Even OTC drugs like Tylenol PM shouldn't be taken long term.

A note about Restless Leg Syndrome:
My mother suffered with it for years. So bad she'd sit up at night crying because she couldn't get to sleep.
When she moved in with me and went to her new doctor, he prescribed a drug called Requip that is generally used for patients with Parkinson's Disease, but has been proven to significantly reduce the symptoms of restless leg syndrome.
My mother was finally able to get a full night's sleep.....the very first time she took it.
It's not addictive, but seems to target the actual problem.
