Pain where drain tube was ...

I am 4 weeks post op (TAH) and find that the majority of my pain is located at the right end of my incision where my drain tube was located. It was removed while I was in the hospital, but I had no staple there, just a steri-strip, however it looks like it has healed closed fine with the rest of the incision.

Just curious if anyone else feels the any discomfort in the same area?

Thanks, Lyndi

Pain where drain tube was ...

LYNDI,
I also had a drainage tube (left side). I did have trouble with that area. I thought my eyeballs were going to roll out of my head when the dr. pulled it out.
The week after my surgery (Sept. 13) I had a burning seering pain from the incision to the area where the tube came out. the dr. gave me an antibiotic and the pain subsided.
Went back to work Oct. 25 and about a week after I stretched out in bed one night and the pain came back. Ended up back at the dr. He said there was alot of scar tissue on that side and it could be pulling on my colon. He ordered a CT scan. Diagnosis was "possible diverticulitis" (I had nausea and stomach pain).
He wanted me to have a colonospy I said "NO". He gave me 2 different antibiotics and feel fine to date. I dont think it was diverticulitis. I thought I might have pulled a stomach muscle.

I still have some soreness and bruising where the drainage tube was.
Good luck, Dottie
