Hard Swollen Belly After 4 months?

I am about 4 months post op from TVH. I had enlarged uterus and multiple fibroids. Surgery went very well and I feel very good and energetic, but my lower abdomin just keeps getting bigger and bigger! It is a very hard band across my tummy right below my belly button. Granted, there is a layer of fat on top, but this is not a squishsy fat tummy, something is under there. It sticks out a lot and I am having trouble with all my pants, even though I haven't gained any weight.
What could this be? Is there scar tissue in there that is swelling up or could this be somehow muscle related? I am doing moderate workouts with limited crunches for my tummy. Nothing hurts - its just poking out so far! My husband commented last night that my tummy is sticking out further than it was prior to surgery. Any ideas or suggestions? Also, possibly unrelated, but I seem to be having a new slight urinary problem. Kind of like before surgery when the fibroids were pressing on the bladder and I felt like I had to go pee all the time, but when I did go there wasn't much to speak of. That had gotten much better after surgery, but seems to be getting bad again.

Hard Swollen Belly After 4 months?

Sounds like it could be a number of things. I still get a swelly belly if I over do it. But could be scar tissue, could be bladder problems, or a few other things. I suggest you make a call to your doctor, and talk with him about it. You just never know.

Let us know how you are doing.

The only thing that I can strongly suggest is seeing your doc about it. That way you can find out what it is and maybe it really isn't anything. I still get swelly belly if I do too much but mine isn't hard. I would definately get it checked out.

Hard Swollen Belly After 4 months?

Thanks for the replies, ladies. I called my Dr. this afternoon and she is scheduling an ultra sound for me. Not really sure what she is looking for - I spoke with her nurse, who told the Dr. of my complaints, who told the nurse to call back and schedule an ultra sound. You know how it works. Anyway, the nurse said it could be as simple as gas. I will be pretty embarrassed if it's just gas! But I don't really think I could have gas for this long. At least not without large amounts of it escaping, which is not happening. At least not to any larger degree than is usual.
I'll post again after my ultra sound and let you know what the conclusion is.
Thanks.
