Removing steri-strips painlessly?

My steri-strips have been on 10 days as of today (doc said leave them on 7-10 days) and I'm scared to remove them because I think it's going to hurt (some are over regrowing hair) and they seem to be super glued on!

I saw an old post about putting KY Jelly over them for a while, then showering to get them off easily.

Anybody tried this or have other suggestions?

I want this to be as easy as possible, but mine don't seem to even be "curling up" and loosening yet.

Thanks everyone,

Removing steri-strips painlessly?

My doctor took mine off at the 2 week visit. They were superglued like yours. Becuase there was still quite a bit of numbness in my abdomen, I really couldn't feel much of anything. I knew he was removing them, but it didn't hurt. Hope this helps!

Removing steri-strips painlessly?

I've felt no pain when I removed mine. Hair had also start to grow.

I found that gentle rubbing with washcloth & soap for a few days loosened them up.

Hope you have no problem...

Take care,

Removing steri-strips painlessly?

I have been wondering about that. I am suppose to remove mine tomorrow as it will be one week home from the castle and my instructions say to remove them then. I have hair regrowth also and I am afraid it will hurt.

I will try the KY jelly and soap and water, hope it helps. They have began to curl just a little bit at the ends. My entire pelvic area is black and blue, is anyone elses this way? It is so nasty looking, plus with the dried blood there, is is difficult to remove it also with out it pulling. I am afraid it might pull the incision open if I try to hard to remove all that dried blood.
