Granny Panties

Okay - so I'm trying to get as ready as I can for surgery. We have a new Target superstore and I spent an hour and a half there the other night buying everything from the Oral B brushups to granny panties!!

OMG these things are SO big, and SO white!! I was *cracking* up trying them on! I'm sure it won't be so funny after surgery and I'll be thankful to all of your posts here advising me to get them, but it gave me a good laugh all the same! Goodness knows I need the laugh right now. My divorce was filed know what they say about "when it rains..................."

You'll appreciate those Grannie Panties! I got some Fruit of the Looms I usually get, and got a size bigger, and am LUCKy I didn't have the Abdominal surgery. lol. When I came home those undies were still a bit uncomfortable.

Hugs to you

Granny panties are those high waisted panties.

I didn't care for them. My problem was they were too tight around the leg openings - I ended up with a raw spot from where they had the tape on my incision site (I was allergic to the tape) and that's exactly where the leg openings hit me.

I found that boy shorts worked much better - they have no elastic on the waist or the legs, just stretchy fabric all over. I picked up some enormous ones at Victoria's Secret but also found some at Target.

Sometimes just getting your regular undies a size larger is fine. Some women never need to switch styles. I think a lot of it has to do with whether you have an abdominal incision or not.

I was back to my old style of undies after about week 4 - though I still wear the boyshorts.

They will give you these wonderful mesh underwear to wear after your surgery and while you are staying at the castle. Ask for more when you leave, they will give you some. They are not the prettiest things in the world but they are comfy on the swelly belly. Take some smelly lotion and lip balm with you too. It just seem to boost my spirits a little to be able to feel good. Good luck sweetie. All will go well. Let us know when you get home.

Ladies, beware of those granny panties!! There's a hidden side effect no one ever talks about, but which can change your life if you're not careful!

Like most new princesses, when I had my surgery, I bought some granny panties - you know the ones I mean - cotton, high waisted, two sizes too big. Well, they were so comfortable that I just continued to wear them even after I had recovered.

After several months, I noticed, however, that they were no longer a couple of sizes too big. They had actually started to fit!!!! Horror of horrors! My butt had expanded to fit the wretched things, much like how a goldfish, when placed in a larger bowl, will grow to fit its new environment!!

Ladies, beware and take my tragic tale (pun intended) to heart!!! Don't wear your granny panties a moment longer than necessary or you too may find that one day your hiney has grown to fit its environment!!!

Sorrowfully yours,
