How Is The Cervix Removed???

I HAVE A VERY STUPID QUESTION. IF THE CERVIX IS PART OF THE UTERUS HOW DO THEY REMOVE JUST THE UTERUS AND LET THE CERVIX STAY???WHAT KEEPS IT IN PLACE?
ALSO, WHAT KEEPS THE OVARIES IN PLACE???ARE THEY ATTACHED TO THE FALLOPIAN TUBES THAT ARE NOT REMOVED?
I'M JUST CURIOUS ABOUT THIS.

How Is The Cervix Removed???

Hi,

A subtotal or partial hysterectomy removes the uterus above the level of the cervix, so the cervix stays in place. The fallopian tubes and ovaries may or may not be removed.
