Uses for Left Over Pads, Tampons, etc?

Am laughing aloud reading this post. Can't wait til I don't need them anymore. Am hoping that this time is the last time. I can't throw everything out however as I have a daughter that comes home to visit once a month or so, and she knows that she would never have to bring her own stash with her, as I would always have plenty of everything. Seems like I could open a feminine hygiene store out of my purse. One ? though, out of curiousity. My husband has never had a problem with going to the store to buy products for me. But....none of my friends husbands/boyfriends will for them..I could hardly believe it when we were discussing it. What is up with that?

Such a funny thread. I also stocked up just before I found out I needed to have surgery. I was planning to take them to work with a "help yourself" sign, but while DSIL was over with the kids, she asked if I still had any around as she was caught unprepared. She hapilly left with several full boxes.

I am still pulling supplies out of every purse, suitcase, drawer, cosmetic bag, bathroom and closet. I also had a wide variety, and am tempted to start a "museum" of feminine hygeine products. Anyone else remember those "cups" that were around for a few years in the sixties? They were supposed to catch and hold the flow. The had ridges to hold them in place in your vagina, and a loop on the end for removal. I remember that they didn't work very well and were uncomfortable. Also tossed a couple of diaphragms - no need for them anymore!

I started early and was always heavy and frequent, so I was ALWAYS prepared. I was obsessed. Sales on supplies still attract my attention. Even caught myself starting to toss boxes of super-plus into my shopping cart once after surgery. It was a great sale! Forty years of any habit is hard to break. It still seems so weird to go anywhere without my stash. Nothing was more anxiety provoking than having ro take a chance on the availability of those skimpy ladies room vending machine products.

I'm tossing the stragglers in a box for my SIL, I'll probably keep a few around if a friend has an "emergency".

I'm coming up on a year...and I'm STILL finding "supplies" stashed in odd places. Found a brand new package of pads in the bottom of my work locker, under boots, training manuals, etc. I put them out on the "community table" in the locker room for the other ladies to use.

Ha/ha now that is funny. My twin sister made me a crown out of tampons and maxi pads and we went to the bar and had a blast I didn't buy a drink one. Women thought it was the funniest thing they ever saw. I called it "My last TAMPON part" We planned they whole thing around my last period before my surgery as a last farewell horah! I would recomend it to any fellow hystersister before hey be day at the castle. It was very helpful in my mental recovery Karri

Hi Sherem57

Just had to add my 2 cents worth to your statement that your hubby has no problem going to the store to buy supplies for you.

I was married for 20 years to a man who would sooner drink his own bath water than purchase and feminine protection products for me.... and I dare not let any be seen in the bathroom either. How pathetic.

Now I'm with DBF, and he is so different. When I started hemorrhaging while on vacation out of state, he offered to go to the store for me to my shock! He said what's the big deal, obviously the items aren't for him, which means there's someone in his life he cares about, and as far as any clerk looking at him funny, who cares what the the clerk thinks anyway.

He is so right, so level headed, so rational, and oh so adorable!

Just wanted to share that since we both have men who are comfortable enough in themselves and their manhood not to be intimidated by a box of tampons or pads.

Maybe we'll invite them to the party too, they could be our bartenders...... "Oh Sweetie, pour me some champagne please as I toss these pads on the fire"

I saw a comic do a routine once about buying tampons for his girlfriend. He talked about how some guys are weird about it but not him. He gets in line and holds them over his head - turns to the other people standing in line and boldly proclaims "I've got a WOMAN!!!" I can't remember this guy's name but he's really pretty nerdy and wimpy looking - totally believable that he would be proud to be purchasing such items.

My Hubby had no problem purchasing products for me, or bringing me a change of clothes at work if I needed them. He was completely calm and understanding about my sleeping on beach towels and worrying over the dates of events in connection with my monthly cycle.

He did freak out a little when I described accurately for him the size of clots I was passing. But, I took that as sympathy - not him thinking I was a freak.

Some guys are just awesome, what can I say?

This is the funniest thread since the "hysterectomy verses vacation" thread.

I too am looking forward to wearing WHITE! White under wear, white pants, white dresses and shorts! I always wore black under wear, black pants, black shorts and black dresses... for obvious reasons! Along with the super sized tapon and a king size mattress pad in my pants!
It is already wonderful to not see red everyday! I had mine for 8 months straight with out stopping! YES, I was anemic!
Think we should have a Yard Sale for our left over un needed feminine products? Along with our White Party!

This is the most hysterical thing I have read since I don't know when.

I vote we all wear tampon/maxi crowns, load up our supplies and have a bonfire in the middle of town. The fire would be so big I bet they could see us from the Space Shuttle.

Tampons tammpons and MORE Tampons

HI There!

I had to laugh at this posting. My DH and I are getting ready to put our house up for sale. Since I am only 1 wk. post op, he has been weeding through stuff for the dump. He asked me if there was a place I DIDN'T have a "stash"! He gathered everything up and my stepdaughter came over and I presented them to her.

I am so sure I have stock in Kimberly-Clark by now that I am thinking of contacting them! LOL

So relieved not to have to use the darn things anymore, pads, tampons, etc, etc.

I am looking forward to going to Victorias Secret and buying some new, sexy non-granny panties! I might even try a thong...TEEHEE!

Since I am healing so well, we are planning a "second Honeymoon" when we go to CA. in October to visit friends and family. Somewhere romatic, at the beach maybe! And I don't have to worry about carrying around any "extra baggage".

Hope I am invited to the online party....

Thanks for the laughs....
Little Al

Hillarious post!!

I can't believe the number of places I stored my supplies. We just went on vacation and there wasn't a suitcase or travel bag that we took out of the basement that didn't have at least one pad/tampon tucked inside. Last week, my sweetie told me he'd found some pads in his briefcase....a "just in case" stash. At one point, I really thought we'd need to build an extension on the house!!

I've been trying to decide what to do with my enormous supply of product. They'd be no use to my young daughter who isn't in need of pads the size of a mattress nor extra-super tampons that would probably be double her body weight once used!!

Put me on that party list. The freedom is really the best thing I've gotten out of this whole experience!
