put those old pads and tampons to good use

Hey guys, I don't know about the rest of you but I always had enough tampons and pads at home for an army because I bled all the time. I am going to take all my left overs to the womens emergency center here. Most of those women flee abuse with nothing but what they are wearing. I think they can get more use out of them then if I just tossed them. Please consider putting yours to good cause too. Merry Christmas.

Uses for Left Over Pads, Tampons, etc?

Hey Keri,

That's a wonderful idea! We just happened to be doing a project at out church for foster children back packs, with the same idea. A lot of those kids get pulled out of homes so quickly they don't have time to pack all they need, so we put a few pads and tampons in the teenage girl packages. Its traumatic enough for them, why add the embarrasment of asking a stranger for those things, right?

Oh well, just had to add my 2 cents. Have a Merry Christmas everyone!

Uses for Left Over Pads, Tampons, etc?

I had my hyst on Apr 6, kept ovaries and all is well now. I think it was in Apr when I read a thread that I couldn't help but laugh at. One lady took the pads, stuck it to her feet and dusted the floors because she was not able to do it with a broom and mop. I have a golden retreiver and have tumbleweed dust bunnies all over, they shed 12 mths a year, I used the pads and they worked! I thought, this is great, if anyone saw me now, they would kill themselves laughing at me.

I JUST WANTED TO SAY THIS SITE IS WONDERFUL, we can share things with each other that other people just don't seem to understand what we go through.

Merry Christmas to all

Well, I ceremoniously handed them over to my teen daughter. So, I can still get that "thrill" of finding them on sale. lol I don't know about you, but the darn things are so expensive, I always felt like I'd won the lottery when I found a good sale on them-I'd always buy the whole shelf. lol lol

What to Do with the old Tampons???

Hummmm......I've been thinking about this since last night...... WHAT am I going to do with ALL those boxes of unopened... and some opened tampons in my bathroom closet??? I mean.... I've got tampons of all brands and sizes in that closet right now..... we're talking maxi tampons..... light days tampons..... medium flow days tampons.... you name it... I've got it!! Now, I am scheduled for my journey to the castle on Jan. 16th... and I know that "Aunt Flo"... the wench.... is due for her 'visit' about Christmas day.... doesn't that just stink royally??? WHAT a witch Flo is!! Well, anyway.... I can live with that fact since I know it will be her LAST visit in my lifetime!! But.... WHAT am I going to do with all those leftover tampons??

I've thought of the idea of using them for "fire kindling".... in the fireplace.... but, heck.... why waste good plugs like that??? No, that's probably not the best way to go.....

Do you think the Goodwill would take them?? Or maybe I could have a garage sale this coming spring and put them in a box on the driveway... maked "freebies.. take as needed"..... A gal on another post (2438) suggested making "Tampon Angels" out of them..... but I don't know how to make "Tampon Angels"...... but it sounds cute, doesn't it??

Girls I work with are ALWAYS asking me if I have any 'spares' in my purse..... so I thought of putting my oldies in the bathroom at work..... but since I work at a department store... I'm afraid it might look like they were stolen and put in there or something.... and THAT would just stink for my reputation!! No, I can't take that risk with them!! So, I chucked that idea!!

Maybe I could just pass them out to all of my "still menstruating" girlfriends.... and I could say to them...."Here, dear, is a gift from me to you... and Happy Periods to you!!" Then I would just laugh and laugh and laugh..... as I think of the awesome fact that ole Flo dear will no longer be making visits to MY door!! OH.... life is SOOOOOOOO good !!!!

Anyway, any "tampon disposing" suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks in advance ~
Kim K.

Uses for Left Over Pads, Tampons, etc?

Hi Kim
You can get the instruction for the tampon angels at

I gave my supply to my SIL about 2 weeks after surgery. I keep finding others, though, as I clean know, a few in spare purses, backpacks etc. I know there are some in my desk at work.... I'll keep these ones around, just in case I have a visiting friend in need.

Hope you figure out what to do with your leftovers
