I don't have my surgery date yet either, but I can't wait until the day that I don't have to worry about it.

One idea to use up leftover pads

Before I started using up all my pads with the current excess bleeding, I always had extras on hand and one night when I felt lazy about washing my face at bedtime, I saw the pads and it hit me that they might make a good face scrubber.

I tried it with the adhesive strip still on, folded it into thirds, wet it and put my facewash on it and it did a good job. Holding it against my eyes softened and removed my mascara completely too. The absorption of the pad keeps it wet until the job is finished and then just toss it away!

I forgot that my son's fiancee' said she could use them for her horses but I forget why. Something about their hooves I think? That doesn't sound right.

Re: One idea to use up leftover pads

My neighbor uses them to wax his car. He restores older vintage cars and swears by them. He said that they won't put swirls in the paint like other regular waxing pads can leave.
Martha Stew (won't finish last name) used them to make slippers during her stint in jail.. Now there is some talent!

ROFL, oh thank you, I soooo needed those mental images. Maybe I should saturate a couple with lotion and stuff them in my socks to keep my feet moisturized, I have such dry feet!

Re: One idea to use up leftover pads

Laughter can get you through the toughest times.. I rely on it a lot.
There is another use for pads that I know of, but I wasn't going to mention it here. Might as well now though! Many years I had a female patient come in for a chest X-ray due to some breathing issues. Pneumonia was suspected. She disrobed from the the top down (in private) and slippped on her gown and sat in the waiting area. She was called back to get her chest x-rays done, all was good there technique wise so we sent her back to wait untill the film developed. When the films came in, we noticed that she had something under her breasts that we couldn't really identify via the film but knew it was foreign and placed there intentionally. I called her back into the room and asked her if she had placed anything under her breasts since things were not looking right on film. She opened her gown and said, "Why yes, I have two pads there to help keep my boobs perky ". She went on to say that she hated waring a bra and the pads gave her the right lift that she wanted without having to ware one. Apparently she didn't think that they would show up on film! She was a sweet older lady. Will never foget her...

Re: One idea to use up leftover pads

I had to go to a last minute white elephant party (gag gift party) so I decided to take some pads and tampons and make slippers out of them. To spice them up I added glitter. They were quite the hit.
I love the perky boob lady!
