Re: ok ladies! what did YOU do with your extra pads and tampons?

I found myself always needing the hidden stash of pads at work because my period was all over the place, so I am taking mine to work to donate them to the emergency stash drawer.

Re: ok ladies! what did YOU do with your extra pads and tampons?

I keeping finding my old tampons in odd places, in my desk drawer at work, in my desk drawer at home, in 3 different drawers in the bathroom, in the linen closet, in my rolling briefcase, in my over-the-shoulder brief case. They just keep turning up! Gaah! I feel like they are stalking me!

Re: ok ladies! what did YOU do with your extra pads and tampons?

I planned on keeping some here for guests who my need them.
I was going to give them to a friend, but I REALLY like the idea of donating them to the troops or to a woman's shelter.

It's funny, I didn't realize how many I had stashed all over the house.....

Gardenia, I hear you about how many we have stashed. To borrow a knitting term, my stash had become a SABLE (Stash acquired beyond life expectancy). I packed up two 10-ream boxes (that you get paper in at the store) and gave them to the teacher across the hall for her daughters. One box from here at home and one from the file drawer in my classroom. She told me that would last her at least three years!

Re: ok ladies! what did YOU do with your extra pads and tampons?

Hi, I really like the idea of donating the pads to a local women's shelter. I'm only 3 weeks out.......no bleeding, but I think I'll still hang onto them for a little while, just in case. With 20 years of really bad, heavy periods they kind of serve as a security blanket. It is hard to get past the "Just in Case" syndrome. But I know over time I will.

When I took my first aid course a couple of years ago, the instructor mentioned that pads could come in handy for wound care and bandaging. Maybe I'll keep some around for such emergencies. Either that or I'll give them to my sister for a Christmas present.

Ok the SABLE thing really made me laugh! Keep it coming ladies! I want the weird creative things! I do really love the donating...BUT I am one of those people that probably wouldn't take something especially a tampon. From something that wasen't totally sealed. I love that the "heart is the right place" idea tho'
