Any hard core campers?

Coat the tampon in vaseline, use the string as a wick and voila! Perfect firestarters! Could do the same with a pad - especially if the wood is damp.....

Uses for Left Over Pads, Tampons, etc?

I happily bagged my assortment and divided them between my Sister and Sister-in-law. Oh how happy I was to do this.

supplies

I will still keep them in my purse, just so if I'm at a bar or at the mall or wherever in the restroom and someone (an unlucky period getter) says OH MY GOD DOES ANYONE HAVE A TAMPON??? I can whip one out and smile.

Random acts of kindness?

Another Idea

You could also donate them to a local women's domestic violence or homeless shelter. I'm sure they would be most appreciative to get them.

(I have a 20-year-old dd, and the day I returned from the castle, I put a big bow on my last box and left them on her bed. What a relief not to have to buy them anymore.

For more great ideas, check out this link which is in the Most Memorable Archives. (It starts off with a different topic, but soon picks up the topic of this thread. It's long, but well worth the read!) But be warned, if you're a newly puncutred princess, you will be laughing a lot, so grab the tummy pillow!

Uses for Left Over Pads, Tampons, etc?

Great idea!! I wish I was able to donate, burn, sell..whatever..my pads and tampons but unfortunately I am still doing a little leftover bleeding..what a disappointment!! Besides, I have 2 daughters who will still need them for some time , God willing. But, when my time comes..I will definitely by disposing of those awful, uncomfortable overnite size pads!! I'll be for days .
Take care all...

LOL what a great thread!

I have cloth pads (those washable ones..very nifty, earthfriendly and all that good stuff) that I have just NO Idea what to do with. I just can't picture someone wanting "used" cloth pads (eventhough they're completely clean..) on Ebay...heeheehee.

My tampons were easy...painted 'em various shades of red, and made the little buggers into a mobile for my meditation room! They look simply wonderful, too. Pinks, reds, purples, glittery ones, sparkly ones, you name it..I used up all my nail polish practically!.

Ah well. I'm sure I'll find a use for the cloth pads..maybe rip 'em up and use 'em as filling for cushions?...

Uses for Left Over Pads, Tampons, etc?

What a wonderful pick me up this morning to find this! I have to tell on my 15 year old dd...when I came home from the castle she said since it was true that when you had 2 or more women together that their periods would fall about the same time....that now that I wasn't having one anymore....she knew hers would be stopping too! I was a bit alarmed that I hadn't informed her any better :eyes: then she got a good laugh at my expense

Uses for left over tampons????

OK, I use the left-over pads to put over incision while it is draining, but does anmy one have a use for the left-over tampons?? I had bought a box of 80 super tampex tampons a bout a week before I was informed of surgery and only had one period after that!! So I gots lots of left overs and I have no daughters and my one daughter in law has already had a hysterectomy!! My sister is getting ready to have one. So any ideas??

Hi Patty

I gave mine to a local women's shelter (your church might want them too). I think that I found a great chapter on this in the HS book, through the Land of Hyster, (I gave my copy to my doc) where they suggested turning them into angel christmas ornaments
