What to do with Feminine Hygiene Products?

What did you do with your leftover "supplies"?
I work with all men and no relatives close by. I hate to toss everything. Does anyone know if women's or homeless shelters take this type of donation?

I'm gonna do a bonfire with mine.

No seriously, a women's shelter would be an awesome idea to take them to. I don't have a lot, but I figured I would save them for my friends who come over in need.

Pads work great for ice packs!!! Just fill them with water (absorbable one), place in a zip lock back and freeze. Take one out as needed!

I'm keeping a few for guests since I have a lot of friends still with Aunt Flo. I'm sure homeless and women's shelters will take unopened boxes.

Re: What to do with Feminine Hygiene Products?

Yes, yes, yes! Women's and homeless shelters would love to have those supplies! I work with an organization that runs a needle exchange program, which means that we have a lot of people coming in who live in poverty, may be homeless. When we get in-kind donations of toiletries, clothing, food we also distribute those. It's not unusual for women to ask if we can spare a few pads or tampons, and we're happy to be able to do this when we can.

A high school/middle school might also welcome unopened packages of feminine hygiene products for the nurse's office to help out girls who get caught unprepared.

Food banks take them too. They give out items that are not food related when they have them such as toilet paper, toothpaste and feminine hygiene products.
