I've read several of your posts and it seems that youre suffering from a fistula (from reading your test reports). I sympathize with you for having to suffer though this until you can find a Dr to do a repair. However, I highly doubt the fistula was caused by the ED nurse trying to cath you. And if infact theres a nurse working in the ED that cant distinguish a vaginal opening from a urethra, well....., i'm not real sure i'd be spending anymore time anywhere near that hospital.
Fistulas are a risk associated with hysterectomy unfortunately. I would suggest that you demand a referral (either from your GP or your GYN) to a well trained, experienced urologist (preferrably one who specializes in womens urology) and seek out his/her help so you can get back on the road to recovery.
stay well.

((((((((Chef Rose))))))))) You poor thing. Bladder stuff is just the worst. I've been going through similar problems for almost 7 months and it *****!

I must agree with dg2901 here though, that someone putting a catheter(be it a latex straight cath I'm assuming)in the wrong place would cause a hole/fistula to form. The catheter isn't strong enough to puncture the tissue in that way, rather, it would just bend. I am highly concerned that this nurse doesn't know a vaginal opening from a urethral opening though!!! I'd report her, especially being she has made this mistake twice now? Sheesh!

Your fistula is generally a direct result of the type of surgery you had, and for whatever reason, your body decided it was going to form itself a hole in the wrong place. It needs to be repaired and it's going to have to heal properly. Are they planning on doing anything about this?

Some women, especially the elderly, have urethras that are actually behind the vaginal opening and this can happen also from swelling due to surgery. This is probably why the catheter slipped into the vagina. I have had patients like this more times than I can count and what we usually do is insert the cath, if it slips in the vagina, we leave it there so that we can reach the urethra. It necessarily doesn't have anything to do with the nurse's ability.
You have had surgeries in this area recently and that is probably the case, it was due to the swelling or the way your anatomy looks. I hope you find relief soon.
