How do you know if you have prolapsed (vaginally, bladder, cervix..etc)?

I had symptoms of a prolapse before my TAH in May, but I didn't realize what it was at the time. I am now almost 8 months post op and have a posterior repair scheduled for later this month. My symptoms have gotten much worst.I experience terrible vaginal fullness and pressure, can't move my bowels most times without using my fingers, vaginal bulge on the bottom, back ache. I have a large rectocele and a enterocele. I am also experiencing lack of urge to urinate, but tend to leak a little when bending over. I feel something on the top of my vagina now and am afraid it may be my bladder dropping on there. This would be a cystocele, which requires a anterior repair. I need to call my gyn and talk to him before my pre op appt. in case I need tests done. I want all of the repairs necessary done on the 25th.
My gyn is going to use a derm graft to make the repair last. I wonder if I am out of my way by asking him to go ahead and do a anterior repair while in there or should he order test first? I do not want anymore vaginal surgeries. I need to go on with my life surgery free.
Do any of you sisters know if a cystocele can be detected just by doing a pelvic exam?

thanks
Peggy

Yes, my doc diagnosed my cystocele with a vaginal exam. I had my rectocele, cystocele and urethrocele repaired at the same time as my hyst. My doc believes it is best to just do it all at once rather than having surgery, anethesia and recovery for three or four surgeries. Not to mention the expense!!
