trying to keep down food

I had a hard time keeping down any type of food, solid or liquid. The hospital food was really bad so that didn't help either. I went home after 2 1/2 days and after vomiting several time I got the idea of eating baby food and applesauce. It worked and that started me off to eating. Thought this might help someone. I'm one week after surgery and just had my first bowl movement.

Appetite? How's It Been?

I haven't weighed myself this week bcz this week is week 4 and I found myself eating out a lot due to being out shopping and that's a no no. But when I went to my GP week 3, I'd lost 20 lbs in 3 weeks since surgery. But they fussed me out about it being too much so soon and that I needed to eat right to heal right. So, last week I did make an effort to eat better but went a bit overboard with the eating out. My mom and neice saw me yesterday and said boy your stomach has really gone down! That itself is enough to motivate me more. I don't crave sweets or chocolate which I'm surprise bcz I thought you craved chocolate when you go into menopause (surgical for me, both ovaries gone but no HRT yet. Will discuss with dr next week). But, I need to lose 75 lbs anyway so and weight loss is welcomed. This week I'm going to really watch it like a was doing prior to this past week and I'm joining Curves in 2 weeks!

Appetite? How's It Been?

I had my surgery nov 2 and I've lost over 10lbs. I had no appetite at first, but suddenly last week my appetite came back with a vengence. I'm hoping to gain 20lbs, so ladies wish me luck.

Appetite? How's It Been?

Interesting...I have the exact opposite. I could hardly eat anything pre-op because if I ate, I would bleed. Done deal. It got down to 3 foods that I could eat and then maybe it wouldn't happen, but some foods would just cause out and out hemoraging, and I never knew what or when an old standby would join the no-list. I was completely mind-F'd. This eating problem, along with acute anemia, went on for months before surgery. It was bad. In the end, I felt like something that got scraped off the pavement and dumped on the operating table. There was almost nothing left of me except the killer fibroid, which I am sooo thankful is GONE!
Now I'm eating for all of hystersisters to make up for the past year and just starting to feel human again.

Appetite? How's It Been?

Hi,

My appetite still isn't what it was prior to surgery, seven days ago, now.

I've lost about 5 pounds, according the scale when I went to the doctor's office on Thursday, to get my staples out.

I'm not sure how much of that weight loss was due to lack of appetite, and how much was due to the weight of the uterus.
