Anybody ever find any money??

After reading through the posts about recycling, and someone finding money hidden, reminded me of something.
My DH once bought a till from a clearance sale, wanting to sell it on again, and make a profit (his little hobby) and playing around with it, I mentioned that in my work, we often have to check the spring inside, that notes get stuck there, and when we looked, found almost enough money to cover what he'd paid for it. Although he didn't make any money on the sale, we did actually make a profit

Oh yes!
After my recent stay in hospital when I came out I found nearly £10.00 in the pocket of my jacket!!! (OK so I put it there but had forgotten all about it).
Only this morning I walked into the lounge and called to my other half asking if he had lost some money - the reply "no I haven't got any" miraculously a £20.00 note had appeared on the floor - we still don't know where it came from.

I found some money in an elevator at the mall when dh and I were on vacation. We got off on the wrong floor and went back in and when we came out there was a security guard asking if anyone found some money. I said, "yes, I did" and gave her the money. She was soooo happy, she kept hugging me and thanking me. She really warmed my and I knew that I did the right thing.

only my own. i had forgotten that i had hidden some money. 4 months later i was cleaning and i found it. came in handy though!

The only money I've ever found and still do occasionally is money left in my family's pant pocket when I'm sorting laundry. The rule is, I get to keep it. But it's never more than 5 dollars anyway! I can tell you plenty of stories of losing my own money though!!!

I found $20.00 once. I had parked my car, to ride with someone else. When we got back I was getting in my trunk, looked down and there was the money. There was no way I could find out who lost it. My sister and I have a birthday two days apart, our BD's were coming up, so I halved the money with her.

I was in Walmart a few months ago standing in the check out line and behind me I overheard a little girl talking with her mom. She was talking about finding a $100.00 dollar bill in the next aisle by the candy. At first they thought it was play money, but it wasn't. The little girl wanted to keep it and her mother kept encouraging her about the right thing to do....how would she feel if she lost something and someone found it and didn't want to give it back...the little girl got the picture and they turned the money in to the security at the store. If no one claimed it, she would eventually get it. What a wonderful lesson that mom taught her daughter that day. One I am sure will stay with her a lifetime. I walked away from there that day feeling like so happy that there is still good people in this world and I had just witnessed it first hand.

That was really nice to hear Karen. I totally agree. I know many mothers who would have told their child that and then took the money for themselves, especially so close to the holidays.
