TVH post one week

Hi, I had my TVH on Dec. 14th and have been doing really well minus the pain of course. However, a couple days ago I smelled a lil odor down there which seems to be getting a lil stronger. My doc told me that experiencing a discharge and spotting would be normal. He didnt say anything about odor ?

Please let me know if any of you have had this problem. I am also interested in talking with other's who have had a TVH, just to share experiences.

Thanks, and may you all have a wonderful Christmas !!

I had my TVH on 12/7, and yes the odor is totally normal. Not pleasant, but normal. You'll have the brown discharge (and the odor) for awhile, so just hang in there.

I'm only a week ahead of you, but feel free to ask my any questions you want!

Take care,

thank you

I really have to deal with this for that long !!!! arrrgghh ! Atleast I know that I am normal now !

So how long does it take for the doctor to give you back all privledges with a tvh ? I have a three week check up on Jan 3. I thought that would be the only checkup I need, but now I am learning otherwise !

So how is your pain ? Mine is mostly lower back.

My TVH was Dec 13. I am now having a bit of the odor as well. It is normal and expected. I have a 2 week checkup on the 27th. Hang n there We'll be just fine! Beats the problems that caused the need for surgery, that's for sure!

I had an LAVH BSO on the 15th. I've been having pinkish discharge, and yesterday when I over did it by alot I had bright red blood. I haven't had any brownish discharge at all. Has anyone else had the pinkish stuff??? Is it normal to still have pinkish, bloody discharge a week after surgery?? Or, am I maybe over doing it??

Stillstandin - I just got back from my 2 week post-op and he has given me permission to drive now (thank god) and to do slightly more lifting and exercise, but not much. Still no intercourse (waaahhh!). I go back in four weeks for a 6 week checkup, at which time he should release me to have intercourse (yay) and go back to work (boo). So just hang in there.

Klee - sometimes you can get a bit of blood down there if from the stitches dissolving, but it is possible since you're only one week that you are overdoing it. Basically right now you should be doing NOTHING! Please be careful.

Hugs to all,

I had a TVH on the 14th also. I have had similar experiences with the spotting and after I spent a couple days of not just sitting on the couch. I sat pretty much all day today and it has been better. I have a post-op on the 27th and my Dr. told me that unless I had problems that would be the only one.
