surgery 12/27 & now sore throat????

I am scheduled for TAH 12/27 & had myself built up to it, you know get it over with. About 10 days I got scratchy sore throat, left it go & last Monday wnt to the dr-he put me on zithromax(u take for 5 days remain in sytem for 10) & by wed my throat seemed better & I breathed a sigh of relief. Last eve throat started getting scratchy & hurts up into my ears, no temp, what about this & my surgery, just makes me very upset as I got everything done & pretty well lined up for having surgery this week. My throat burns like fire, no temp & no sings of a cold yet.

surgery 12/27 & now sore throat????

:confuse:

Jeez, what a time for a sore throat...

I know when I made my pre-op visit they wanted me to let them know if I was "ill" in anyway.

Tommorrow's Sunday and I'm sure difficult to get ahold of anyone, but here are my 2 suggestions. Put a call into the MD that gave you the Zithro and have his answering service page him.

Another idea is to call the hospital where you are going to have the surgery and ask for the surgery desk and someone will answer (someone's gotta be there)...and tell them you situation and what you should do. If it needs to be cancelled they are the ones that need to know also, so it won't be a wasted call. If they tell you they need to cancel surgery make sure it's clear who will notify the doctors involved (you or them).

Sorry about the rotten throat!

Peace,
Nancy

Go to the Hosp as normal on the 27th, do tell them about your throat. In most instances they will do surgery as long as you do not have a heavy cold, nose blocked by mucus or sinus problem.

Stress can bring on all sorts of strange symptoms, and this may be all it is.

I will be thinking of you on the 27th.
