HELP! 4 Weeks Post OP & think I've hurt myself.

I had laparoscopic BSO (4 weeks ago) and had no probs except the left incision became infected. ON christmas eve I helped my sis in law get her luggage in my car for her trip back to Belgium from the US. Her luggage weighed about 70 lbs each. I threw them into the trunk..because i got aggrivated and just picked em up as hard as i could and slung them into place in my trunk. Before that i couldn't tell that i had an incision in my belly button. now it is bulging alittle and again it hurts to bend over and wear pants. wonder if i should go to doc tomorrow? I have a swollen bulging spot now in my belly button and i'm concerned. i know it was stupid but after laparoscopic surgery..4 weeks later you think you are healed. they don't make a big deal out of the LAP. surgery... anyone know what i should look for whether i really did some damage to myself? i'm nervous i hate when i do stupid stuff!
thanks for any help.

YES, you must see the Doctor as soon as possible. If it is bulging like you describe with that much pain you could have intestines trapped inside the hernia. the bulge a darker color than the skin around it? You need to be seen asap.
Been there done that.

No, the 'red' color just means that blood is accumulating around the area you injured meaning that your body is reacting to the injury and trying to heal it. IF you would have told me that it was black and blue I would have told you you need to go in now. But it sounds as if the injury isn't as bad as I once thought. Although you still need to be seen and advised as what to do about it.
