Vivelle Dot and Dizziness

Hi Everyone:

I presently take .25mg V-Dot and change it every other day. I feel I need more hormones because of hot flashes now and then so I moved up to the .05 mg and I also have tried the .375mg. My body just can't seem to handle the higher doses. I get real jittery inside and dizzy.

My question is since I have been fooling around with my dosages I am so dizzy all the time. When I change my patch I can feel my ears start popping and my head feels full and that thing in my throat (thyroid) feels funny. Will this sensation in my throat and the dizziness every go away? I have tried all kinds of antihistimes thinking it might be inner ear. I just don't know what else to do. By the way I am back on the .25mg dosage again. Wish I would have never fooled around with this. Wonder if I would do better with Estrace .05mg and let it melt under my
tongue instead of the patch. In the past I have had my thyroid checked because of the sensation in my throat when trying different hormones and the doctor always says it's fine.

Any suggestions? I hate having to drive and work with these dizzies.

It may be worth a try to try another method of delivery if the patch hasn't worked for you. We are all different and some women don't absorb the patch well.

Have you talked with your doctor about the dizziness? I've recently developed some problems with dizziness and lightheadness, not fun at all!!! I don't believe mine to be hormone related though.

Why are you changing the patch every other day? Have you been checked for a sinus infection. That can cause dizziness.
Sometimes when you change hormone doses it takes awhile to level out.
I have switched to compounded hormones, only estradiol and I think it works better for me than the Vivelle patch.

Vivelle Dot and Dizziness

I am currently using .75 Vivelle Dot. It has really helped me balance myself hormonally. However, I have noticed that my blood pressure is elevated at times. I had trouble with this prior to the surgery when I was on the pill. Unfortunately, it does list hypertension as one of the side effects of the patch. I am really hoping I don't have to change it since it has helped me so much. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you if you are experiencing dizziness you may want to check your blood pressure as well. Most local grocery stores and pharmacies in my area have machines. You may want to check it the next time you go.
