finished with pelvic massage

I had my last session of pelvic massage today. I was having the therapy in an attempt to release some adhesions. Unfortunately I am not getting any relief. My pain is the same (and on some days worse) than when I first began the therapy. The therapist said she has done as much as she can do. {{{sigh}}} I see my doctor again in 2 weeks - it looks like I'll most likely be going in for more surgery to remove the adhesions and put some barriers in place.

I just wanted to update you on my status. I could use some extra prayers - the constant pain is making me weary.

I too am sorry the message didn't help. I know none of us want to have another surgery.
When I went in for a lapro for possible adhesions in Sept. the adhesion specialist surgeon said he would use a spray(barrier) to keep adhesions from ever forming again. He swears by it. He said it has been the best barrier to hit the markets so far. Maybe ask your dr. about it.
I hope you get relief soon. I know what it is like to think of yet another surgery.

((((Lynn)))) I'm so sorry that the massage therapy didn't work I had so hoped that you could skip the additional surgery: you've been through so much this year, you really deserve a break

Just know that you're always in my thoughts and prayers. Hopefully, 2005 will be a healthier year for you

sorry

I am also sorry that the therapy didn't work. Did they feel they could "break up" the adhesions? I have heard of that. This may sound like a dumb question, but what do adhesions feel like? Are they different in all woman? I have read about them, but the symptoms seem "textbook" on adhesion websites, so I was wondering what "sister" symptoms are.
Wishing all a healthy 2005.

I am so sorry your pelvic message did not work for you! I just went through some rebilation and it did not work for me either *sigh*!
As far as another surgery that is a big decision sweetie! I am very well versed in Adhesions as I am a suffer also for 4 years now! i have been in the News Papers annd on the news in like 6 different states! I also am trying to get a Adhesion Resolution passed here in my state which will happen this year I will be speaking to my state Rep this month!
I also am an advocate for adhesion suffers!
Mtdew.........
What Spray barrier is it? The only one I know of that is "Spray Gel", and right now that is only on trial in Mass, Boston!
And it is the best and there are very few doctors that know how to use it properly! It is the best but is not on the market yet!

I Last year in Sept 9,2003 went in to get adhesions removed, I also was told by my trauma surgeon that he was going to put Seprafilm in there...I though ok this will get me some relief! I made it through the first surgery ....But after my first surgery my pain increased so bad I was in tears well my surgeon ordered a barium enema....it was awful...but the found that my bowel was perforated and that i needed emergency surgery ASAP....so they had to cut me from above my belly button down to my pelvic bone! The first surgery was by scope but what i think happened is that he nicked my bowel My second surgery was on Sept 11,2003 i was in the hospital for 17 days..because i ended up with infections and all kinds of problems!
I truely thought i did my home work and I did lots of research on my surgeon!
I have now vowed that no more surgery unless it is an emergency, because after all i have been through my adhesions are back and with each surgery they came back even worse!
I suffer from persistant bowel blockages now, chronic pain and the list goes on!
I totally understand finding relief and you have to do what you have to do! Please educate yourself on adhesions! Just read as much as you can hun!
I think everyone with adhesions have different symptoms it depends mine are crampy sharp constant aching pain! I know they are back as i have trouble eating and having bowel movements!
Lynn....have you thought about Pain management????
I will pray for you sweetie I do know how you feel..I am scared to death of even getting another surgery right now because of what happened last time!
Now I will only get surgery with a specialist and this year will be setting up a fund so that i can go to get these buggers removed! But what fears me most is that my adhesions have cause so much damage! You will be in my prayers and please keep me posted I worry about all us ARD suffers God Bless!
I get hospitalized for blockages!

Lucky Lady,
As you can see from my sig line, I too am an adhesion sufferer and currently in pain managment. i have also discovered that I have a rectocele and I wait all the time for a bowel obstruction and that is because the last surgery showed my entire large colon was twisted up like a tight slinky so I know it is coming one day and it hurts so bad when my stool passing through my large colon. This last surgery was with seprafilm and 4 weeks later , it was back andyou are right, the pain is worse after each surgery. my doc said no more surgery unless I have an obstruction and I totally agree, of course this was before the rectocele was found by me last week.
What type of resolution are you trying to get passed and as an advocate what are you doing to make people aware?
Thanks in advance for your reply, you can PM me if you want instead of posting it here.
