Post Op Appointment/2 1/2 wk

Hi Sisters,

I went to the DR. yesterday for my post op appointment (TAH BSO/12-10 and I am doing really well.

She took out a few stitches that were left. I asked her about bladder pressure when urinating and she said she basically had to peel the uterus away from the bladder and to expect the discomfort for alittle while.

I have to go back in 3 wks and she said no SEX, tub baths, or swimming till then. Also, no lifting or heavy housework. She said to ease back into normal activities and housework.

AS to driving, I saw a few posts questioning it. She had said 2wks, and I have driven my daughter to a couple of practices, but no long distance driving yet. The DR is 45mi from home and my DH is off this week and drove me.

We decided to do some Christmas returning and I was whipped after that. The stores were crowded and hot. I have felt so good and haven't overdone it much, but I was a bit achey last night. I'll know now feeling good doesn't mean I'm ready for that kind of thing yet.

Thanks again for all the advice from all of you! You have made this experience so much easier that I thought it would be!

Sounds like the doc thinks you are doing well. Keep up the good work, just remember not to rush into anything. There is a good place to look for guidelines onthe do's and don'ts during post op. There is a link at the top of this page called checkpoints and it gives you a guide depending on how long you are postop.....it is great and also has a lot of information on it as well.
Good luck!
