Spotting at at 8 weeks post-op???

i began bleeding 2 weeks after surgery and continued for 6 weeks. I had discussed it with my doctor. He said it was where the vaginal cuff was healing and allowing blood from surgery to seap through. I had lost alot of blood during surgery. I would call you doctor just to make sure it's nothing to be alarmed about.

Spotting at at 8 weeks post-op???

Yes I to had bleeding at 6 week post op. Had surgery on 11-1-04 and felt like I had a period again. Had to wear a mini pad for about 6 days. I had called the dr at that time, she checked me to see if there was any problems, said everything looked good and was healing very good. Said it was just left over old blood from surgery. But if you are still concerned I would call your dr. Haven't had any since then.

Spotting at at 8 weeks post-op???

Hi Betty34,

My surgery was Nov 8th and I'm still having some very light tan/pinkish spotting. Hardly enough for a pantyliner, but persistent. At my 5 week checkup, the doc said things looked good. So I am trying to be patient, knowing that everyone heals differently. If it continues another week or so, I'm going to contact my doc again.

Spotting at at 8 weeks post-op???

Hi,

You could have a bit of granulation tissue, unhealed tissue which can be proned to bleeding. You should give your doctor a call and get it checked out. There's an office procedure using silver nitrate which can cauterize the tissue and stop the bleeding.

s,

Lisa

Spotting at at 8 weeks post-op???

I had no spotting from two days after surgery until I was about 5 weeks along - then it started and continued until two days ago and I'm almost 10 weeks after surgery. At my 6 week appointment the doctor said he could still see the stitches and that was causing my spotting. He didn't release me at that time because of that and some continuing pain. If it isn't heavy and is light pink or brownish you might be able to ignore it for a bit, but it wouldn't hurt to let your doctor know.
