swelly belly and very tender

I am almost at my 3 wk point and my swelly belly is very defined! It looks like someone did too tight a stitch haha! Geez I hope mine goes away.

I am starting to get the "burn" sensation already on my skin around the incision.

I didn't know what people were talking about "the burn" until this evening. Oouch! What is this and how long will it last?

Thanks for this thread. I too have that tenderness and swollen spot just above my incision and just where the belly lays on it. My regular Doctor and my OBGYN/Surgeon say it's ok and normal and everything looks good. There's still just a very light shade of yellowish green from the bruising. I had my surgery on Dec. 2nd so I'm at one month tomorrow! I still get a very light bleeding which the Docs say will last for a while and is also normal. I'm ready for this to go away so I can enjoy some of my time off from work!

Yes! Hopefully we will get to enjoy some of this time off, once we are healed!

I hope you end up feeling better and with more energy than I have, but don't get your hopes up too high, Sisters! I'm supposed to go back to work on January 10, and I'm still swollen and spotting and too tired and sore to do much of anything. It's a bummer, because I was looking forward to a couple of weeks of "vacation" at the end of my disability leave! All I have scheduled for this week (my 6th week post-op) is getting together with a couple of friends for lunch and maybe do a little shopping. I tried shopping at the mall this past week, and after 2 hours I had to practically crawl back to the car. My legs and belly were SO sore...! I thought I'd be doing better than this because I was in pretty good shape before surgery. Oh, well, I guess everyone heals differently. But just be sure to listen to your bodies, don't plan on doing too much, and stop as soon as you're tired.
