sleeping on your tummy?

Hello.
I am just being curious. I am three and a half weeks post op and would love to sleep on my tummy. I had a TAH on 12/8/04, so I'm pretty nervous about attempting that. BUT.....when do you think I can??

sleeping on your tummy?

Itsie,
I think that is a comfort issue. If you feel comfy sleeping on your belly then go ahead. If you have pain while you are on your belly then I wouldn't do it. I had surgery on 12/02/04 and I sleep on my belly with no troubles. Anything to help me sleep better. I seem to wake up about every hour at night.( afraid I might be missing something good maybe.....lol) But follow what your body tells you.......

Sleep Sweetly.....

Hugs,
Jenna

sleeping on your tummy?

I agree...I believe you can when it's comfortable. I can't even sleep on my side yet for more than 30 minutes. Enjoy...

sleeping on your tummy?

I started attempting to sleep on my tummy at about 3 weeks, sometimes it was comfortable and other time it was not, the only way to find out is to go for it. good luck and I hope you find it to be comfy.

sleeping on your tummy?

My dr. told me I could sleep in any position that was comfortable. I slept on my tummy from the 3rd night on with no problems. I pulled up one knee to take some weight off my tummy.

tummy sleeping

I also prefer to sleep on my tummy. It was about 2-3 weeks before I could sleep that way comfortably. But I have to sleep with one knee pulled up to the side while I am on my stomach, if that makes sense. I find that lying flat out stretches things a little uncomfortably still, and having the knee up does the trick.

Cheers.... Cam

Sleeping on tummy

I had a TVH on 12/17 and accidently slept a number of hours on
my tummy (totally flat with my arms up under my pillow) exactly one week later. Boy was I sorry! I woke up in total pain and was pee-ing blood most of the next day. Must have irritated my bladder. When I brought up the incident with my doctor at my two-week appointment, he wasn't too concerned since the symptoms disappeared after a couple of days.

Since then, I have taken a couple of naps and slept a portion of some evenings on my tummy with no problem. Guess it's just a matter of healing and comfort.

Good luck!

I'm nearly 5 months PO and I STILL can't sleep on my tummy with comfort. It's making me bonkers!
