3 weeks on Jan 3

Hi:
I'm new to the forum. I too reached my 3 week mark on Jan 3. Heading for 4 on Monday. I have to return to University on Monday and am a little worried. In the morning I 'm not feeling too bad. But I get up, shower, wash a couple of dishes and I'm ready for bed. I'm still sleeping alot. 12 hours or more. I am glad to read that the pain I'm feeling is normal to all. I do notice that when I pee it hurts alot at the end and when I have gas or have to have a bowel movement it really hurts. (Though this is lessening some).
But it is interesting that so many had surgery around the same date. I picked Dec 13 because of the semester break and I wouldn't have to go back to school. I have had a great crew to look after the daily stuff. Pretty bad when 3 people have to do what you normally do. Just grateful that it's not summer, cause the yard would scream out to me to come an play.
I'm glad I came across this site. I feel it will be helpful in keeping me sane.

3 weeks today

Work has gone pretty well so far. I teach reading and go from class to class. I have to watch stairs and sitting. I am tired, but I really did not want to take time off. I work 4 hours a day and also tutor. I am easing back into the tutoring. I really feel pretty well.

3 weeks today

Hi all,

I am also a 3 week-er and I am starting to feel more normal these days. I had a TAH on 12/15 - took everything, and I am not on any hormones so I am kind of waiting for what I am going to feel like without them. I also have the swelly belly and just bought one of those futuro abdominal supports so I hope that will help me with support as well as helping me not see myself as the 'Pillsbury doughgirl' every time I look in the mirror!

I have found that I tire easily, whereas I never did before surgery and was pretty active. The other day I cleaned one shelf in my fridge and I guess i must have bent too much because I paid for it for the rest of the day with exhaustion and some pain. Won't do that again! I also get up 2 or 3 times a night to go to the bathroom - my bladder is definitely not all healed yet. Anyone else have this problem? It is a real annoyance, but I can handle it if it is just a temporary thing... I guess I will have to address it with my gyn when I see him in 3 weeks.

Looking forward to the time when I feel more energetic and can get back on the tennis court again...seems like a long way off for me! Thanks to everyone on this board who has made this experience bearable! You folks have been just wonderful with your advice and good sense.....
