Post Op Question ................

Hi,

I am going for my 2nd post op visit next week and hope someone can answer this for me. I had a total abdominal hysterectomy
5 weeks ago, both ovaries left intact. I have read other women
who posted being on meds immediately after same procedure
such as hormones or meds for low libido. I have a strong feeling my drive has been drastically decreased, should I ask him for anything or just wait and see? Also why are some women immed.
taking hormones, if they have their ovaries?
i ALSO WANT TO THANK ALL THE WONDERFUL, HELPFUL WOMEN ON THIS BOARD. I WOULD BE LOST WITHOUT IT.

You could go either way at this point, but in any case, please do mention the changes you're noticing to your doctor. They can't help if they don't know what's happening in your life

I had the same surgery as you. Although my ovaries seemed to be "in shock" for the first month, or two,............I never felt the need to experiment with hormones. Feel fine!

I would still discuss this one with your ob/gyn. Seems to be that it's still too early in the game for you to give up on your ovaries. Keep us posted!
