Successful First Day

I had a fabulous first day back at work (almost 10 weeks)
everyone was really pleased to see me - boy did that make me feel good! What an ego trip lol!

Well after about 10 seconds trying to remember my sign on code it was like I had never been away, totally back into the flow.
I am a little tired but with that is a feeling of almost "exhilaration"

In hindsight I understand why my doc wouldn't let me back at 5 weeks but I also think I should have been allowed (by doc) to go back when I felt I was ready.

My manager is givng me a couple of days to hang around the front end and get used to things again then on thurs (exactly 10 weeks) we are discussing my new position.

Everyone has been so respectful and won't let me lift anything - they have even been taking 750ml cans off me lol

And Kate! well she finished her shift just after mine started but appaerntly she has been really worried that she will upset me! She has been concerned that I will get upset because she is now quite big - so all in all I think that will work out for the good!

The sad thing is this all means I'm growing up and not really "post op" anymore and not really road less travelled so I may have to go and lurk in friends without faces soon!

Congratulations on a good first day back at work.
Please remember, though, that it takes a full six months to totally heal and to still treat yourself like a

Best wishes--

I am glad it went so well. Getting back to work does wonders for the old brain.

I'm glad Kate is sensitive to your feelings. I think her behavior is a sign of the respect she has for you.

I'll still be a lurker lol - I am an internet forum addict, I have to have a regular fix!

yes, getting back to work is great, and by 8pm I really felt part of the furniture again!

And I think things will be OK with Kate after all

I'm glad about that because I for one would have been lost without ya girlie!

I did mean it light hearted because I seriously am an internet forum addict - it's my fix, if I don't get it I get all stressy and wonder what is happening in the world lol.

It's actually quite hard to get rid of me...
