I'm new here, so please forgive me if I don't get all the abbreviations correct!

I had a SAH on Oct.29, 2004, just 9 weeks ago.

While I have had relations with my significent other many times since getting clearance from my doctor, my libido is zilch. I can achieve orgasm, but, it seems like it takes forever and my head, which would always begin the process for me, just isn't there co-operating! Does this make sense? The body seems to be responding but it takes major effort. I just don't think about sex anymore, except to realize I don't think about it! I don't feel myself.

I am taking a medication to help with night sweats, hot flashes and sleep called bellamine-s (which works wonderfully). But, even if I don't take it I have problems.

Am I just being too impatient?

I haven't had to face this problem yet, as I'm not cleared so I'm ing your post back to the first page in the hopes someone else can help you.

Did you have your ovaries removed? If not they may not have kicked back in yet, if you did you may not be getting the right amount of HRT and need to speak to your Dr.

These are the only things I can think of off the top of my head, sorry I can't be of more help

Hi There, and

We're happy you joined the Hyster Sisters community! Your post caught my eye, since I do believe sometimes that "Impatient" is my middle name!

I see from your profile that you kept your ovaries, so you "shouldn't" technically be in surgical menopause, but you may be experiencing diminishing testosterone as a result of natural menopause. This is a possible cause of your reduced libido, but not necessarily.

If you don't start to feel "like yourself" again soon in the sexuality department, I believe it would be wise to discuss your libido concerns with your doctor. You deserve to be the best "you" that you can be, and your doctor can work with you towards that goal.

Many s and Best Wishes to You!
