What are those threads, and why am I bleeding?

Although I've been monitoring all your posts and responses since my surgery 12-7-04, this is my first post. I am 4 weeks out from my TVH due to prolapsed uterus, cystecle and rectecyle, ovaries taken also. Everything seemed to be progressing fine - I returned to work as a bank teller - with a 10 lb lift restriction and tho I am really fatigued - no apparent problems until last weekend. I guess I overdid it trying to take down holiday decorations and prepare for another busy week. After week 3 I barely had any noticable discharge - just a slight brown tinge. But Sunday, I began to notice bright red blood and what looked like threads in the toilet after I emptied my bladder. The bleeding hasn't been excessive - just enough to wear a pad again - and seems to be heavier immediatley following the passing of "threads."

Are these internal stitches dissolving and being expelled - or have I possible pulled anf torn something I will surely regret later?

I would apprecite any and all comments and/or recommendations.

I am truely grateful for this site. It has been so healpful and has calmed so many of my fears.

Thanks for all your help.

I am sure the threads are stitches, However, with the bright red blood, you might have pulled one or two, Don't worry, but you should call the doc and be checked out, take care and remember, TVH is MAJOR surgery and you are still healing.
