Weird sensation in skin

I am doing great as far as my post-op healing except for a weird sensation in my skin that is above my belly button up to my rib cage. It is centered , I guess on my ab muscles below my breast bone. It is not really burning but sensation in my skin. Is it from the movement inside behind the muscle due to the removal of body parts? Can anyone relate or offer info? It is the only thing that bugs me beside the normal stab here or there.

hi millet--

have you had this sensation ever since your surgery? or, is it new?

it sounds kind of high up to be from the internal cutting. i know it's not a burning thing....is it a numbness thing?

have you called your dr?????

Weird sensation in skin

It started about 4 weeks post-op and it is numbness, I guess. My GY tested my hormones and stated it is not menopausal. One ovary is doing the job.

gosh...my numbness is all lower than what you are describing. i have a band of it across my abdomin at about belly button level and then another band of it above the incision--yours sounds higher than that. the numbness doesn't really scare me that much (and a woman in the bathroom at my office building the other day told me that for some women that NEVER goes away), but maybe you should check with your dr since it is so high.

i am glad you are doing so good other than that!

Weird sensation in skin

I have a tingling sensation when I touch it, or when my clothing rubs over it, but it is lower than you describe. Mine is way above my incision, but across the lower abdomen. At my exam today I mentioned it and he said it is nerve endings. It may go away and it may not.

The more I think about it, the sensation starts in the area above my belly button but under my boobs. The breast bone is too high up, that's the chest, it is not up there. It is where the rib cage ends. Then across the ab area.

hi millet--

ya know, i GUESS that could still be the nerve endings freaking out from the internal incision, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to check with your dr. it sounds like yours is indeed in the same spot, but extends a little higher than most. good luck with this.
