My DS almost 15 has a part time job. I'm just wondering what you ladies think that he should be paying for himself? Thank-you. Kay

My DD worked part-time from 15 she's now 20 , she pays for movies ( with friends not when going with family) her cosmetics (not toiletries) and any "special" clothing or things she wants. We still buy basic clothing and pay for all her Uni fee's ( no hecs debt)
She now pays for her registration and insurance for her car but we bought it for her and paid the first year. We thought this was important for learning responsibility for monthly expenses and she always saves puts at least half into a special savings account.

My Ds is 13 and r*****g part time - he makes approx. $75 monthly (can't work part time till he's 14). He uses this money combined with b'day and christmas money to buy cd's and any little extras he wants. I still buy his clothes and such but if he wants a certain item that's more than what I'm willing to pay, he puts the extra to it.
