Sorry you are not feeling better. I am only 9 weeks post op and I still get aches and pains. There is an earlier post about being 4 months along. You should check it out. Good luck and hang in there. I have heard that some people feel perfect after a few months and others take up to a year. Bummer....

4months on need help

I would say see your GP My OB baiscially said bye bye after two months too even though I was having a bunch of difficulties. My GP has taken very good care of me, however now at 5 months PO and things are STILL not right, my GP is calling the gyn. I really do like my gyn, but he doesn't know me at all since I only saw him for the hyst. My GP knows if I come in complaining it's got to be pretty significant of I'd ignore it.

You need some answers to get this behind you. Good luck.

4months on need help

I looked at my journal at the South Beach Diet website a few days ago. I STARTED to fell better just after the 4 month mark. My journal tells me I still had swelly belly, twinges ,and soreness. I wasn't yet into full time jean wearing. I still could only sleep in certain positions. I still had bowel problems. That was the physical stuff. Psychologically ...I was feeling ENOUGH ALREADY....WILL IT EVER END?:hair: As far as those around me? Husband was patient....teens were annoyed....my mother was sure the doctor had left surgical implements inside of me!

Today: Iam feeling much better. I actually did crunches yesterday. BUT I still need to BE VERY CAREFUL!! It is easy to set yourself back days or even weeks. I set myself back about a week before xmas by pushing a turkey around in a grocery cart!

I do an excercise tape that I am VERY familiar with. I still am very careful lifting and I avoid any kind of quick movement.

When they say 6-12 months for full recovery...They mean it. The acute trauma of surgery may be over at about 6 weeks but internal healing takes much longer.

time

I started to feel like I had turned the corner at about 4 to 5 months. I felt good before, but suddenly noticed that I could go all day without thinking about the surgery. When we redecorated the upstairs right after Thanksgiving with all the physical labor involved my abdomen swelled up like a little football-kind of pointed in the middle where my two incisions come together. My DH said there must be an alien inside!

I still have some aches and pain and pulling feelings sometimes, but hardly ever. I still have some numbness but that is getting better too.

If it really hurts you need to get back in to someone. I had a bacterial vaginosis that they found by doing a culture-at about 4 to 5 months along-that was giving me some cramping.

A lady at work told me to give it a year before thinking that I was all recovered, that was her turning point.
