Soreness/cramping at 8 weeks

Hi.

I had my TVH/Bladder repair pn 11-19.. I have steadily noticed an increase in stamina, but still having nagging abdominal/pelvic pain/cramping. I went back to work last week (at 6 weeks post op)- the doctor only wanted me to work half days for two weeks because the vaginal cuff was not healed. I too have a desk job which involves the computer. By late morning I am really hurting- I came home at two this afternoon and lay down with my heating pad to relieve some of the pain. The area feels really heavy like before I had the surgery (I had a uterine prolapse).

I am not sure if the pain is caused by the position in which we sit or because we are not healed yet. I know it is frustrating.

Have you talked to your doctor? I have an appointment on Thursday to see how things are progressing.

Take care of yourself.. it is hard to concentrate on work issues when the pain is kind of reminding us all the time that it is there!

Hi! I will be 8 weeks on Wednesday. For the past 2 days I have felt crampy, incision sore and slight twinge on my left side. What's up with this stuff? Just when I think I am feeling better, something pops up! I go to the Dr. on Friday for another internal exam...hopefully all will be healed this time. Have had 2 silver nitrate treatments for places that are not completely healed.

Hang in there, you're not alone! Hope you feel better soon!

Hi
I can't believe this place- just when I'm going to start a thread-it is already being talked about..

I am 9weeks tomorrow. I went back to work 1/2 days at 4 weeks for 2 weeks then full days over the holiday weeks (4 day weeks) and now my 2nd week full time

I am feeling A LOT better in the last week, and maybe that is my problem?? Maybe did too much over the weekend? even though I was trying very hard not to pick up anything heavy (DD's and I were clearing out a store room) but maybe the bending and stretching? seems I have some pulling/almost a pain feeling just below my belly button?? now what would be there???

anyway, guess I"ll have to take it easy for a little bit- and I was just thinking of going back to Curves--maybe not a good idea yet??

what do you think??

8 weeker here also. Went back to work on the 4th of Jan. Computer work also. I think it is because we sit all day, but my job consists of walking also. Last week came home every day from work and went directly into bath tub, this morning when I took my DS to school I said to him don't think I'll need to soak when I get home, WELL swelly belly, aches and home I came, but this time sweet DS had bath waiting for me, he said " thought you might need this " LOL... what a angel! So sisters I'm right there with you.

Hi Cowtoan lady, and other 8 weekers,
I am a firm believer in that motto, if it hurts, try to ignore it. If you can't, mention it to the MD or his nurse - and get their opinion.

I am also a 6 weeker here. My MD said I should "be on the lookout" for some pain at 6-8 weeks. He said that was normal, as nerves would be re-connecting or re-generating. (Or something like that?)

Sure enough, this weekend I had some of those little crampies. They were pretty mild so I told myself if they continued I'd take a motrin. (They didn't).

But if your pain persists, and especially if a motrin or tylenol doesn't stop the pain enough to go on with your daily routine, by all means, that is something to make a call about.

Easy does it -- remember it is a full 6 months until you are all healed inside!

HUGS to you!

Hi there - I'm a little bit farther a long in my recovery than most of you, but I, too, had posted about this a couple weeks back. I started experiencing very mild cramping and aching starting a little before the Christmas holidays (which makes it around 9 weeks or so into my recovery). This aching persisted for about three weeks - at times, it was pretty bothersome. I went to my doctor because I was concerned that something 'abnormal' was going on. He said that everything was fine and that I probably overdid it - which I did - I ran 4 miles and did some vacuuming - bad me! Anyhow, last week was my first week back to work full time - I was out a total of 11 weeks - and I just now realized that the pain has been slowly, but surely, subsiding.

Like others said, it's our bodies still healing. It can take some of us up to 1 year to be back to normal. Just take it easy and listen to your body - don't overdo it like I did.

hi cowtownlady--

if it's any comfort...i did not feel so great at 8 weeks. i was back to work and stamina has never been a problem for me since this whole thing (i mean gees after being so severely anemic--my stamina is a million times better!), but i still wasn't really feeling great at 8 weeks.

I thought I'd be farther along at 7 weeks, but I had to have a silver nitrate treatment yesterday. Lots of cramping and a sore belly today. Is that normal?

And will I ever get my energy back? The doctor also switched my hormones yesterday from Premarin to Climara patch...not that I'd be having any big problems, just mild headaches and some warming sensations. But I'd only been on the Premarin 3 weeks.

I sure hope I feel more like my old self by week 8.
