Oh Geez...
I don't understand why your friend would say something like that to you...has SHE had a hyst? I mean I can understand a young guy saying something like that because lets face it he is young and GUY!! My DH would know better and so would my DS's but there are guys out there that are very crude. But to me to have a friend say that...I think (with the emotional roller coaster I am on right now) I may have cried.
I think you have every right to take the weekend off and spend time with your family. My DH has made plans for me and my family the past few weeks to just get out and enjoy things before my summer is blown. Like last weekend he took me to the zoo, out to eat, and even shopping to pamper me.
Just don't let people get to you and do what you want and need to do.

Actually, she hasn't had a hyster. She just found out she's pregnant for the first time on Wednesday. I don't know if maybe it's because she's really worried or not thinking about what she was saying. A woman that works at her store (who used ot be one of my employees) had her daughter go through the surgery today so I'm sure she heard some details of it. Just kinda caught me off guard. I don't know.. guess I'm just not in the mood for it...

I feel you completely. Today was my last day at work and my surgery is Tuesday. I start bowel prep and liquid diet on Monday so I took that day off. So here's my story about stupid work.

We're at lunch, i'm enjoying my leftovers and the "witch" of the group says to me, so today is your last day huh?

Isn't your surgery on Tuesday though?

So just took a day off huh?

No, I have a liquid diet to adhere to that day, as well as bowel prep. But if you really think I should be here on Monday, I'll make sure to take you to the bathroom with me everytime I go.

She got so "frustrated" today she took off early. What is with these people? I was also asked if it would really take 4 weeks or more if I was just having a lavh.

It will take as long as it **** well takes. (Not that I said this, but I really wanted to).

It's like this is a choice we made, something akin to a boob job (cosmetic, not reconstructive) or nose job. Yes we may have decided this was our best route to serve our overall health, and for a lot of us it is our last hope.

I know it is my last hope for a normal pain free life. And if it takes 4 weeks, 6 weeks, even 8 weeks for me to get back to work full time. So be it. In my heart it is the smartest thing I have chosen for myself in a very long time.

My neighbor asked me to take care of her pets while they go on vacation since I was going to be home and all. I respectfully declined and SHE appears to be the one offended. *sigh* What can you do?
