Did you or did you not have an internal exam?

My doctor did not do an internal exam at my post op. I'm sure he knows what he is doing. I didn't ask him why.

Did you or did you not have an internal exam?

For those who had the cervix removed creating a cuff with stitches, an exam is very important. I failed my 6 week exam, not healed yet. So glad I had the internal exam. Had I not been examined, I could have done some damage and set back my recovery. No one wants that.

Fibroid Woman said it well, "the only way to know for certain is to go in there and look."

Guess I'm a rare one, cause I failed!

Did you or did you not have an internal exam?

Maralyn, I failed my 6 week internal exam as well. I will be going back for another one at 9 weeks. My Dr. will not release me to normal activites until I pass.

Did you or did you not have an internal exam?

I had my six week check up today, it will be six weeks on Friday. I had posted on the board a week or so ago re. internal exams. My Dr. had not mentioned it. i got there today, and sure enough was informed that there was to be an internal exam. I had a TAH, cervix, uterus, ovary, ( I had the other ovary removed in an emergency 18 years ago. )

My exam went well!

I also failed my first internal, but at 7 weeks. I have to go back at 9. It's good to know there are others out there.

Did you or did you not have an internal exam?

As I was reading your posts, I started crying. I saw my doctor Monday. I was told to make an appt. at four weeks. I did this the day I was released from the hospital. When I saw him I was in pain. He did an exam using a speculum, then his fingers. He said everything looked fine. I didn't have to come back unless there I bleed a lot or something.

I'm crying because your doctors sound so caring. They don't want to hurt you. They want to make sure you are okay. I only had a TVH. Is that why my doctor's act like it's no big deal?

Did you or did you not have an internal exam?

I had a LAVH and at my 2 week appointment, my doctor did an internal exam with the speculum - didn't hurt. He took a peek inside, said "yep it's healing alright" and that was about it. I'm supposed to go back in 6 more weeks for a check up, which I am assuming is another internal exam and an update on how I'm healing.

Did you or did you not have an internal exam?

I'm 6 weeks post op today and had my checkup yesterday. My doctor also did an internal exam to check the vaginal cuff. I was so nervous but it really did not hurt. I was released to go back to work today and ease back into my normal routine.

s and ers to y'all
