...and what was the dumbest thing you did?

I have been swimming, no problem...so, yesterday, I did my half mile, then my dh and I went to the ballet (I sat on my donut), and then I said,
"Darling, let's go dancing, it has been such a long time!"
So, off to the Museum Club, historic country western dance hall in Flagstaff...and I danced for an hour, non stop, two step, swing, rock and roll, you name it...and then the stitches sang to me, I had to go home, got into bed, me and tylenol, oy vey, I ached.
Today, very, very tired, drove around town, could not shop, bottomed out in Target, had chinese food with my teenager, then home and hit the bed...hubby left to get me the papers, and I had to drive my teen to work...I am soooooo beat, and I am scared that tomorrow my surgeon will give me a ration of s---for doing too much...I will lie.

Hear those sirens?! That's the pillow police and they're headed to your house! The dancing sounds like fun, but it sounds like you need to 2-step yourself into bed for awhile yet! Take care!!!!! I hear that if the pillow police has to visit twice, they !!!!

You're busted!

The pillow police have arrived, and you are most totally busted...you have good reason to be scared of getting chewed out by your Dr., my dear. You have been on this board practically flaunting that you've been a bad Is it going to take another trip to the castle to get you to slow down? Are you meshuga?

No fair lying to your Dr. either! As the song says, "Face the music and dance...", and I mean that strictly figuratively! You should have known that all of this swimming, swing dancing, shopping, and running around would catch up to you sooner or later so early in your recovery!

Honestly, you don't need to prove that you're a superwoman...you need to heal properly so you can REALLY get on with your life! So cut all this out, come clean with your Dr., and stay in bed like Renny said!

Next time it'll be Mr. Spanky!

My very best to you...

Good Grief Charlie Brown -

Zahava - I couldn't do all that stuff before my surgery. No wait - I probably couldn't have done all of that stuff in my early 20's. I'm tired now just from thinking about it.

Plethora of Pillow Police

Wow Zahava! You have to be getting some sort of Pillow Police record! I am concerned for your long term health. Please heed Music Lady and the rest of us and take it easier...Do come clean with doc-it could be very important. Sorry to sound so heavy  I just don't want to hear that you were sorry later. Sending you big fluffy pillows to hold up your feet!

I know it is so hard to be good. But you really do need
to rest more. I am 3 weeks post op and to be honest with
you my tummy feels too much like jelly and bounces around
too much to dance just yet! LOL.
It's so hard to know when to stop isn't it?
I know I am sitting here in NH in the ice and cold,
considering a week in Florida. I just KNOW the sun
would do me good. Plus I could walk outside.
But what about the flight? What about luggage?
Ugh!! It stinks being a good princess...

OK, I will still swim, but that is all, yesterday I was a zombie and it was frightening...so today, just see surgeon and have girlfriend make me lunch...yeah, I could do that.
I am sooooooo used to being active, and I never have any help at home, my dh thinks that heating up my morning prune juice makes him a candidate for a Nobel Peace prize, so you must understand that if I don't move, then nothing gets done, plus I really do feel marvelous, well, before my Sunday marathon...at least I nixed skiing!!!
Advice received and taken,

You looking for trouble, girl?!

Hey, Ms. Z., be careful! The worse thing I did was help my mother heat up the instant pasta meal the day I came back from the hospital. She hadn't done her cataract yet, and couldn't make out how much water to add.

Hi Zavaha,

I hope you are resting like you should! I had the same exact surgery as you in Aug. (TVHBSO & posterior repair) felt restless too, but let me tell you....enjoy your time off. Once I got back to work, it was be very overwhelming. I work in the medical profession, so everyone was great at work as far as not over-doing it, but it was the other stuff, running to the bank, food shopping, etc. that really did me in. Don't forget to keep an eye out for the granulation tissue. I was treated for that last week. My doc checks for that 4-6 mos. after Vag. hyst.

When you return to work, for your bottom, bring something soft to sit on! I definitely needed it for the first week.

Good luck...and REST!
