16 days out of surgery &?????

I had surgery 12/27 & came home on 12/30 & could hardly get myself out of a chair, but in a few days I could see an improvement. Then it was sleep, could not sleep in bed, slept on sofa, what little I did sleep. About 3 days ago I made it to the bed & fall asleep quickly, but then between the night sweats, my incision hurting etc, it makes for a long night. I must say for first 2 weeks I saw daily improvements, I have now reached a plateau it seems, peeing & bms are not really normal, incision is itching like crazy & still very bruised inwardly with sometimes I have almost seems like spasms especially if I sit too long & must admit for first time am feeling a little down in the dumps as I see no improvement, anyone have any feedback?

16 days out of surgery &?????

I had my surgery the day after you on the 28. I feel the same as you exactly, as far as the sleeping, itching and the pain from the brusing. I think my family thinks I'm losing my mind. I'm thankful that I didn't have cancer or bleed to death and all but at the same time I cried myself to sleep last night after looking at the alien that has taken over my stomach! My incision looks crooked ( I hope it will straighten out ) I have to hold my stomach when I pee due to the pain and I have to take 3 stool softeners a day just to have a BM. My Mother keeps reminding me that I still have a lot of healing to do to chill out. I guess this is true but I can't help but wonder...just wat is "normal" ? I had my right ovary removed and that is the side that is so tender. Thankfully Tyenol PM's help me sleep. My heart goes out to you and I guess all we can do is pray for the best of wishes to each other and every other gal going through this. I just can't help but dread the 4 week check up being so tender inside and all. Hang in there and be assured you are not in the dumps alone. Try your best to pamper yourself and have a good day.

thanks for reply

thanks oneovaryleftnow for replying & helping me. You do not know how much it means to talk with someone going thru the same thing, they are the only ones who can truly understand. I had staples out last thurs & I asked dr about night sweats & he said hopefully they will get better, but I do not see that happening. Up until Thurs I had no prescription pain meds so he gave me some vicodin & I took them at night & they helped a lot but caused more problems with constipation, so I decided to tolerate the pain. I go back 2/3 & I right now cannot imagine being examined, hope there is a lot of improvement between now & then. I have to admit I am somewhat bored, watched enough TV & read enough & I think that only adds to the not seeing improvement. I never had trouble with constipation & hope this is not the beginning of it, Wishing you the best & keep me informed on your progress!!!!
